Otherwise known as Winston Churchill's Cigar shop, JJ Fox has been supplying tobacco products and cigars to the rich and famous for centuries. This is where Oscar Wilde bought his cigars, where the Royal Family bought their cigars, and where both Napoleon III and Fidel Castro can be counted as customers! Explore this charming historical shop in the heart of St. James's, near Mayfair, and see the actual chair Winston Churchill used to sit in when smoking his cigars as well as a place to enjoy one of your own - should the mood ever strike!
After that, you'll be whisked off to luxury hatmakers Lock & Co, where the Royal Family buy their hats. This historic location is where Winston Churchill bought his signature Homburg hats as well as providing headwear for Admiral Lord Nelson, Oscar Wilde, the Duke of Windsor and the late Prince Phillip as well as Princess Diana. A hot spot for Hollywood royalty also, clients include Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Alec Guinness, Gary Oldman, David Beckham, and Laurence Olivier. This is where Charlie Chaplin got his iconic bowlers and this is where King Charles III buys his hats, too!

Absolutely love St. James/Piccadilly/Mayfair area. You covered a small fraction of the many heritage firms that are there (Floris et al) probably due to time restrictions/permission to film etc, but great video, Sinead - as usual👍👍👍❤

James Fox is definitely my speed, the history of St. James Place, and the smell of Cuban Cigar Tobacco. Havana Cigars are very hard to get here in the US, and very expensive. I always enjoy watching go about London.

My question would be how does the process for making a hat for a royal event go? Do they go to the royals home? I doubt they go to the shop. Is it a stylist that comes up with the style and color and all that and just send the info to the shop? I'm just curious about the logistics of it all.
