Very interesting! I build RC quadcopters and the flight controllers and other electronics keep getting smaller and smaller. While I'm OK soldering a standard RC-style plug, getting much smaller than that is tough. This could be useful for something like that. Of course, just because I can now see it doesn't mean I can actually solder at the micro controller pin level. :)

Know what you mean as my eyes get older everything get smaller! :-)

Really bad lag, if you're going to do micro soldering, this is gonna get frustrating really fast. I did get a microscope (AmScope) with a camera, for a lot of more money for this purpose, no lag, works super well. But I use it by looking into the oculars, using the screen is just for checking or recording. Granted my setup is about 30 times more expensive, but I don't think this will be very useful for SMD work.

Yes there is a lag but not that bad as most likely look worst in the video and I can see to do the solder dragging however its the solder bridges which I am hoping to see. Also hoping for a USB 3 version soon too :-)

Can't wait until the price for the faster USB 3.0 scopes to come down. The lag on these 2.0 scopes, at the higher resolutions is just too much for me to use for SMD work.

Another viewer wrote about the lag too and its not that bad however I can see the point. As I can see (with mid 50 year old eyes) to drag the solder however looking for the solder bridges is one of my issues. Do you have a link to USB 3 microscope?

Just got one a little while ago. Cheap Chinese one (aren't they all from China though) off Wish.com for just a few bucks. Works pretty well, will have to play with it some more.

I want to play with mine some more but am going through a full-home "purge". 19 years of accumulated "stuff". Out with everything that serves no purpose, is not being used, or we no longer like. It's amazing how much is just in our closet. This is gonna be a looooong week.

LOL! The problem with me is everything serves a purpose it is just know when the time will arrive for that "purpose" :-)

DIY3DTECH.com - LOL! Yeah, that's my motto except I'm getting ready now for the eventual "downsizing" that will come. I'd rather have to weed through 20 years of built up crap rather than 30. My mother is dealing with it right now. Selling her home and moving to a smaller place. Can't take it all with her and my sister and I don't want 95% of the stuff she thought we would. I don't want to have to go through that or make my kids do it. But this way I will get my "office/lab" in shape, purged, and organize so I can do my day job and my 3D Hobby. Then with the garage "healed" perhaps, just perhaps, the car will fit in. Damn garage is probably not deep enough to get it in and be able to walk around the car. What is with architects? Do they think everyone owns a SmartCar or subcompact? Geez, some of Americans are 6'-3" and need a "full-size" vehicle and they are typically long suckers. Wish I could build a garage but the lot is not wide enough. Ok, sorry for the rambling, my ADHD got the better of me. Now to get back to "the purge!"

After the 3040, he hates my guts. The only good thing is a friends wife runs dispatch at the local UPS and she watches out for me :-) as I am known for getting "odd packages from China" as I live a smaller community...
