Oh Anne, I just love these tours with all the Christmas decor and music. So much eye candy, awesome painted cupboards, etc. I would spend hours there. I don't know of many good shops anymore around where I live in NY. The one shop I absolutely loved closed due to the owners retiring. 😭 I need to move to Connecticut or Massachusetts. 😂

You know, it's hard for me to understand the "trends" as someone commented in a reply. It's Christmas for crying out loud. Where are the artisans who can make angels and mangers with Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the wise men, the shepherd and the sheep, etc. I asked our local prim store owner and she told me it's hard to come by. Truthfully, I browse these days but hardly buy anything. I have enough snowmen and the ho ho jolly guy to joke a horse.

Alot of that is new to look old.. alot was also around when my brother and I were growing up in the 1940's and even though we twins are 79 years old I would not call these primitive Christmas ornaments or decorations

Yes that’s interesting. Lots of prim stores sell other kinds of ornaments because most prim ornaments are homemade out of oranges etc. I see so many thing out there in antique stores that I had when I was a kid and I think “that was just yesterday”

Anne, in all your shopping would you see if anyone has small benches. I’m looking for the perfect one that is either black or old dark wood. I have a small area in my entryway where a small bench would be so perfect. No more than $200 if that’s possible. Thanks Anne🌟🥰

Woodstock country shop Has some benches made by the Amish. Bumpkins often has benches. Probably even primitive goods. Bernat Antiques does… just depends what they have at the time and what you like.

@@AnneClay Aww. That’s too bad. Angels are definitely part of the Christmas season. The Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would conceive and give birth to Jesus. Angels also announced to the shepherds that the Messiah had been born. Angels would be a nice addition to that collection. Thank you, Anne, for your reply. 😊

Store owners purchase what they find from the vendors. Much of what is available for sale is from the artists. Right now snowmen and Santa’s are big. About 20 years ago I remember when angels were. It’s all about trends.

@@AnneClay Oh, I see. Maybe these stores can commission a few angels from private people willing to make them. I know when I saw the video for Halloween, I thought it would have been nice to see some Pilgrim dolls. There was an abundance of witches. But some people don't like displaying witches. Pilgrims aren't specifically Halloween, but they are associated with the Fall season, harvest time, and Thanksgiving.

That’s an interesting thought. It seems that shops are finding it much handed these days to stock their stores. Many people have retired and others are selling their items themselves. Many stores have closed and the few remaining are really working hard to bring beautiful items to people.

I loved the video it was all Merry and bright. I have to have cream colored walls with mine so I stay upbeat. I have a tendency to get depressed if I don't. It took me several years to figure that out, but I LOVE to look at others who can have darker walls. Thank you for all the wonderful videos I enjoy them soooo much! I love your home and you are so precious to me.
