Thanks for showing your haul. I have gone to 6 Walmarts in the last two days. While I have found something different at each store there isn’t much for OCC left to make it to 75% off. I Ended up getting lip balm just in case it’s all gone at 75. Check the Christmas tshirt in girls/boys dept. The ones folded. They scan 1.00 ❤❤❤

Yep, I scored those shirts! Just forgot to put it in the video. Found more today! I’ve been to 5 Walmarts so far. I’ll go back for a few things at 75%. 😊

Awesome haul . Our January shoebox items are going to be Christmas clearance items of your choice. Mu mom was in dollar tree today. She was telling a lady about what she was buying. As she was checking out, the cashier gave her a small envelope. The lady had bought a 40.00 gift card to use toward shoeboxes. God is so good. Happy Packing.

The weather was bad yesterday so I didn't get out until afternoon. I only got to Target and Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree had one coloring book and one plush left. I got some things at Target (be on the look out for Cars branded holiday Hot Wheel style cars for $1.64). I was planning on returning today with my husband so I didn't get as much from the Bullseye Playground as I would have.Today we get there about 2:30, they had boxed up the ENTIRE playground section. It was all gone except NYE, even the non seasonal. My Aldi was mostly wiped out (you never know honestly) but I did get two of those dolls. Walmart this morning had a lot of plush but not a great selection, a lot of the same few. Like you, my Walmart had a ton of those lip balms, I'm sure they'll be around for further markdown. No pencils or erasers to be found. I did get some musical toys. Sometimes odd things show up in the further markdowns as they clear out the back room, move them from other spots in the store.

Sounds like you did great Kelly! Yep, I’ll be back at the stores especially Walmart who magically has things appear out of nowhere! Are the Cars brand at Target?

@ Yes at Target. They were Disney brand Cars in holiday packaging. They were originally in the stocking stuffer section so I found them in Christmas. I only saw a blue one “Sally” I think but they may have more. They were marked more than 50 percent off. And yes Walmart is pretty much a treasure hunt things just turn up! Sometimes months later.

@@byrdfeed9071 and 75% is coming soon! I waited on a bunch of stuff but stuffies seem to be gone already. I couldn’t believe how much people were buying at 50%! I mean cart fulls! There are several clothing items and slipper socks that are worth getting now for $1. I found a bunch yesterday!

I already planned to use that gift tag popsicle idea! Good find on the lip balm. Yesterday I went to Grocery Outlet where I'd seen red,white & green wash cloth 6 packs for 2.99, now 1/2 off I got 8 bundles! Some for my boxes and the rest for hygiene filler kits I'm going to make. Dollar tree had only a cart of candy and random mark dons, nothing good but they just put out all the Valentine stuff and I got a 10 pack of cute mini paddle balls and one of kazoos. They had mini clip on pop it's which I regret not getting. I'm going to another one and a few more stops tomorrow.

I wish I had an Aldi near where I live, I love Aldi! I went to Walmarts, Mardel, Michael's, CVS, Walgreen's & Ace yesterday. I'm waiting til Hobby Lobby goes lower than 60% off although by that time there may be nothing left 😅 My walmarts are also mobbed at 50% off. Mardel's was 70% off and I got a fair amount of stuff.

Great finds - thank you for sharing! I only went to Walgreens yesterday and didn't find anything I needed. Unfortunately I only have Walgreens and Walmart in my town - have to drive 25 min to Dollar Tree and an hour to Target and Hobby Lobby. Last week I found some great deals at Walgreen on dolls and car sets that were 33% off and feel great about those.

That’s not a bad start two days after Christmas. Love everyone’s shopping with me videos, great ideas and gets me excited. I’m recovering from total knee replacement done just before Christmas so no shopping for me right now. Looking forward to the shop with me videos after Easter because I’ll be ready to shop for bargains then. I also like your pencil pack ideas. My goal is to do 50 this year. So after Easter I’ll start shopping as I can. My second total knee replacement will be in early June. I’ve got a short window to get my boxes done, filler and pencil packs completed between surgeries. Hoping I can reach my goals if not I’ll be satisfied I did my best. My church collects early September therefore realistically at the very best I have 60 days to get it all completed. I ordered beads so I’m working on beads kits while reclining In between PT 🤣 so it’s a start. 😃

Oh my goodness…2 knee surgeries! I’ve heard knees are harder than hips. I just got a cortisone shot in my left knee.. hoping it holds me. I’ll be praying for you! I felt like I had a shorter window this year too because of my hip surgery but still ended up packing more than ever!!! Your goals for occ will motivate you for PT. 😊It definitely did for me! I knew I wanted to work shifts at the PC so I worked extra to recover as quickly as possible even though it was hard. Hope all goes well! ❤

Why does your church collect boxes so far in advance of Collection Week?

@@Lunafalls collection week dates are set by occ so they are the same for everyone. Collecting the boxes in November allows time for inspection before distribution.

@@drogers Oh! That was a concern I had when I saw (on the box you showed) it said 500 pieces. I'm afraid after I got them seperated, I'd have to work each little puzzle to make sure all the pieces were there, before sending in a shoebox. 🙂 However, I will still consider them the next time they go so sale, they really are cute. When you say using the tape to decorate the boxes, is that instead of wrapping paper?

Typically only to cover up logos or reinforce the edges

Yes, you can use the duct tape to cover up logos and such instead of the wrapping paper. They turn out cute! As a bonus, it reinforces the box! 😊
