I know I’m late to the party here but it’s really nice to see you getting used to things in this country. I’ve lived in 4 different cities here over my working career here and people are right when they point out Sydney as being the most expensive. Nice to see you doing what the rest of us do and buying up the specials each week, and also being suckered in at the Arnotts aisle! Turkey is not a particularly common meat to eat here compared to the USA, but lamb is. When we lived in Seattle for a year we struggled to find lamb. Also don’t be afraid of the tuna flavours - some of them are quite tasty and delicious on a sandwich! 😀

Free fruits for kids? I hit like instantly. May be it's a normal thing for people there but I personally heard it for first time so I really liked this idea. The thoughtfulness or a strategy that kids are most difficult part when I go grocery shopping. Kids busy eating will let us shop more. I saw another video tour of coles and saw a kid eating banana. I thought eating is not allowed on supermarkets I don't know how he did that but guess they to allow this.

Maybe also try to find a fruit and vegetable only shop, not a posh one though but an average everyday one. You can get your produce sometimes half the price and more variety.

Great video Kendall! For you American viewers, the Australian dollar is currently trading at $1.00 AUS to $0.71 USD. So you can basically take off 29% off the shown price if you want to know the cost in US dollars. Keep up the good work DateNightWife!

Food shopping abroad is my favourite. Most of the products are basically the same as in the UK; but flavoured tuna is totally not a thing here, and not sure how I feel about those either. Noticed the Lavazza Rosso, that's my go to coffee/espresso. Biscuit aisle, omg now I ~need~ Timtams!. :)

I never buy fruit & veg from the super market, it's more expensive than the greengrocer. I go to Coles, Woolworths & Aldi, it's worth the time to get the savings.

Cadbury chocolate block 180g on 1/2 price sale $2.50. The bigger block not on special 350g for $5.00 If u got 2 x 180g, that's 360g for $5.00, better value than the bigger block 350g for $5.00. If there is Coles close by and you know what you want, it's worth checking the special catalogues ahead online. 1/2 price here and there make a difference.

If you find yourself an Indian supermarket, grab some mango curry to cook with chicken. It's delicious.

Thanks for this but unsure of the despairing/shocked face in the photo when you agreed at the end that the cost was pretty reasonable. I guess its a way of getting people to watch but if people don't watch they are left with the impression that Australia is super expensive - which may be the case but was not your experience. Happy to have you in Australia though.

Aus dollars or American? Soft fruit is always costly here in Australia. Due to weather they are expensive to grow and have short life span. I get them on special then freeze. I love raspberries so freeze them to always have them. As for coffee we have the best, so don't be afraid.

Just looking at your intro instead of turing right on to castle hill road, in front of the daycare , turn left and go to Stockalnd at Baulkham HIlls its only 3 minutes away alot closer and it has Wootworths, Coles and Aldi etc ...Also If your Husband works in the city go to Market City Haymarket (China town) Wednesday to Sunday cheaper fresh veggies, fish etc then any "Brand Supermarket" Example in Haymarket 24 eggs $5.00 avocado $1, and 3 for $5 deals eg a whole pumpkin , Brocolli , together on $5..I might do a video on it this weekend.

I think they do have normal prices - we've found everything in general to just be a bit more expensive! But I think Aldi or Coles have better prices for some things! And like some others have said, getting produce from an actual grocer is often more affordable!
