Thank you very much! Very well explained. After trying so many different converters, I just implmented this on my Brooklyn theme. First rey didn't work as the convertyer apps didn't fully uninstall and left garbage behind. I had to revert to older version and then worked like a charm. I will try to add to header like the other conversion apps.

Thank you for putting up this video. Suggestion for improvement: while the Shopify multiple currency function (in combination with Geolocation app) is a bit improvement, it would be even better to have this functionality for the Buy Button and Draft Order. Is this possible?

Good work, question though, how can we get it to auto display the currency based on the customers IP address/location ?

Therefore I think we would need some additional Javascript. We could make a call to an external service (API) that associates the users IP with his/her location and then we might be able to select the currency based on that result. It may sound more complicated than it actually is. I will test this and when this is not tooo complex I will make a video on that as well :-) Thank you for your input!

Great Video, But the question is what if the Shopify payments aren't available in GCC countries? I have a store in UAE, KSA, and OMR . But the Shopify payment isn't available in this region. Hi Omercan :-) Automatically detecting the location would require some third party service. Often they ain't free but will cost like 5-10$ a month. Might do a video on that in the near future but not quiete sure when. Anyways thank you for your feedback and input 😀

Hey there, so if the app is uninstalled that shouldn´t cause any problems. Are you using the debut theme or some other? First thing I would do is right-click anywhere on the page -> inspect -> switch to the console tab and see if you are confronted with any errors. Let me know what you find out :-)

Wenn ich meine Base Currency hierbei auf Euro setze (das also Euro Preise im Frontend angezeigt werden) wird das dann ebenso zum Checkout uebertragen, sieht der Kunde also Euro im Checkout? Also shopify check outs has two stages, Do these methods change the currency at the last stage of the check out? On the video only the first stage of check outs is shown. Hey there, and thank you for your positive feedback :-) I had to look into your question and I think here is a solution: So if you are using the Debut theme you can open the file snippets/product-price.liquid and there you will find the following line of code: {%- assign money_price = price | money -%} Try to replace it with: {%- assign money_price = price | money_with_currency -%} If you are not using the debut theme you will probably also need to replace the "money" filter with the "money_with_currency" filter, but it might be found in different theme files. Hope that helps :-)

Hi Lars, in order to make the Currency selector smaller you would need some CSS styling rules. This week I'll release a video on CSS if your interested in that :-) Otherwise you might consider to hire a developer / Freelancer to do it for you. Regarding the prices you could simply double check them with the current conversion rate, but I'd trust shopify that they do it correctly 😀

Hi Vinnie, so thank you again and thank you for your input :-) I think this will be relatively hard without any app because you will always need a third party service to get the current tracking info. In the past you could use aftership and they would offer a free plan up to a certain volume. Maybe this will work for your case. I'll do some research on free apps and when I find a good one I can make a video on the setup :-)

Really depends on what you are looking for. With an app you could display more currencies. If you have a small business is might be easier to handle one currency in your book keeping and taxes declaration. If a few of the major currencies are more than you need I'd personally prefer this method because its better for site performance and less confusing for the customer.

Hey Ram, I found a solution, but it uses an updated button add this code instead: {% form 'currency' %} {{ form | currency_selector }} Update {% endform %} although I would still like the currency selector to be without an updated button

Alright I just had a look at the theme and they are using a minified version of their JavaScript file in order to speed up loading times. You will find this minified file within the assets folder and it is named "theme.min.js". All the JavaScript code that went into the theme.js has to be added to the bottom of your theme.min.js Hope that helps :-)
