Perfect timing! Been watching videos all day and they assume your variant is basic color picker and not swatches. This was super simple to understand. Do you know of a way to make uploading variants faster and assigning them to the correct color automatically?

@ I have a question. I am new to Shopify so is this something I have to always do whenever there is a theme update? Or I can stick to dawn 15 for as long as I want even if there is a new update. And whenever I wish to go to the newest update, I can re-do whatever code works by then?

You know when you click on a product, it goes to the product page but by default it selects certain options or variants? How does it know which options to choose and can you tell it which variants to choose default?

It selects the first variant, you can change the order in the settings

What if your theme is different? My theme is Narrative and the options under Default product is different for me

Its not working for my refresh theme. I followed the exact same steps.

Please install a new copy of refresh theme and try again, maybe you have other code edits on your theme that create a conflict

Making new templates aren't helping, i have one product which require color swatch and another a design swatch. When i change the value from Color to something other, it reflects to all other templates also? Am i missing something

Yes if the product has both color and design option. the first matching option will be used to group product images You will need to edit my code Send it to chatgpt and explain how your products are setup and how you want to group your images

What you can do is to edit the alt tags add a specific message on those images you want to show everywhere and ask chat gpt to edit my code to always show them

Just tried this on Shopify Dawn theme 15.2.0 followed the instructions to the letter but my page is still showing all photo's regardless of which variant is selected - note i have not published the page and am looking at it in preview not sure if this might be part of the problem?

Make sure you add the code as a custom liquid block not a custom liquid section

My code doesn't slow down the loading speed. The page loading speed is related to the current live theme. If you deleted the theme where you applied my code it won't affect the store.

@@tushargaikwad6739 It's you live theme that is lagging you need to fix your live theme or change it, check if there are some apps that are slowing down your store and disable them. This has nothing to do with the themes that aren't live or the ones that you deleted.
