I loved this video and going to the carriages store. TIM, was such a wealth of information. Cant wait to see Blaze all decked in his carriage harness. He's going to look amazing. Lily and Momma should look online for recipes for make your own Horse 🐴Treats🥕🍎 and 🍯🥥Detangler. also DIY hoof polish. I have friends they make horse treats and Detangler because they know what ingredients are in them and Lily could make shapes with cookie cutters too, for different 🎄🎁 holidays and for her horsey friends. Great Job Justin 👏 your patience is spectacular!

WOW, you surely had fun in the tack shop. Blaze was great being measured, that shows again, how good you are with training him, Lily. I am thinking Josiah went along to help watch Henry. He is a good brother. Don't forget to ask Jonah to make you a stirring stick.

Plain vinegar is the best detangler, add some sprigs of rosemary as an antiseptic, deodorizer, and skin conditioner. Castile soap is a good natural cleaner.

Cowboy Magic is very helpful, Lily, especially for getting burrs out of mane/tails.🍃BUT, in the interest of a chemical free product, I’ve seen some nice alternatives on-line you can make at home using a Coconut Oil recipe 💕 I’m going to try it! 🐴 My favourite horse mix breed is a Friesian - Percheron 🥰🙏 I adore big black horses💕 I do need a heck of a mounting block though😬 I love all your choices, Lily! 😡That stick with the chain loop on the end your Dad was looking at in the tack shop/feed store is called a “Twitch”. The chain is used to wrap around the horses top lip, then twisted to subdue the horse. It seems so cruel and, in my opinion, only to be used in an absolute emergency situation. Not a nice tool😢‼️ Can’t wait for the pony cart to be up and running 🛞🔥

The horse-drawn hearse carriages are popular in New Orleans, where they are used in Jazz funeral parades. Shire Horse and Carriages are known for their "home-going" celebrations.

I still have one Friesian horse. It's pronounced "free-shun" I had a big Friesian farm in Flat Rock at one time. Friesland is the northern provence of the Netherlands up on the North Sea and boy, is it cold there in the winter! I know from experience and did not like it. Lily, if you want to know when Americans first became introduced to the Friesian Horse, watch the movie "Lady Hawke". Sold me. A Friesian horse was all I ever wanted. Ended up importing, exporting, training and breeding them. We once had 3 foals born in one night! There's a pretty big Friesian farm in Landrum. As far as driving, if you're going to do it on your own, you might want to hook him up in the harness and ground drive him BEFORE you put the cart behind him. Driving takes practice and you should get used to doing it, even tho he might already know how. You don't want to be in a cart if it flips. If you have an experienced person helping you, even better. Is Jackson's still in business? I used to frequent that tack/boot store all the time. One of my favorites. You might want to check prices on Amazon for Cowboy Magic. Love it for the mane and tail but you can also use leave in conditioner,... much cheaper at the dollar store, and Mane & Tail shampoos and the like. Again, dollar store. Horse country? Justin, there's a huge horse park in Tryon! Something you might think about for winter is a heated water bucket. It doesn't heat the water, it just keeps it from freezing. I also actually like flat back buckets because they sit better on a wall. Justin the wooden stick you were wondering about is a twitch. Don't buy it but you might want to google "twitching a horse". Lily, that red hook is for hanging bridles and the like. And dude at the shop, if I was a horse and had to listen to that awful music, I wouldn't be happy. Horses need soothing, soft music, or classical. Even country is better for the soul than that racket. Had to mute the video, the music was so annoying. Those poor horses, having to listen to that all day.

Have you considered bitless harnesses, as bits hurt the animal's mouth and teeth get damaged? There is a movement throughout the horse world about reducing cruelty to animals, and this is one of them. Would you like a bit in your mouth to control you or respectful handling like your parents do in encouraging you? I want to raise the issue because I see you are enjoying the relationship with your pony.
@Horse-ColverleafАй бұрын
Bits are not necessarily cruel. Some (Such as abusive bits) do damage their mouth. She is not being abusive and is actually caring perfectly for her horse. Bits are not painful unless you use them in the wrong way. My instructors horse (Little Manchee) uses a bit and he is the biggest teddy bear in the whole world. He loves people as much as a horse using a hackamore.
@hannahmitchell7535Ай бұрын
Your talking about a hackamore. And not all horses tolerate them. Though some bits are harsh not all are. This is misleading.
