Glad to see David Mathis carrying on the quality in manufacturing the Gallagher guitars with attention to sound that J.W Gallagher and his son Donald (and his son Stephen too) passionately developed in their stringed instruments. Doc Watson heard it right away! I was just 16 when J.W. explained to me the experimenting he did to "find" that sound with the bracing under the top. That was 1970 (at the Wartrace shop) and Gallagher was on top of their game!

I enjoyed this presentation so much. I grew up in Wartrace with the Gallaghers in the sixties and currently live in Murfreesboro where Gallagher Guitars is now located.. One of my favorite CD's is Tone Poems by David Grisman, recorded at Dawg Studios in 1993/4. Tony Rice and David Grisman play many vintage guitars and mandolins in these sessions.

Are you related to the great Winston Wiser? My dad grew up in Wartrace and has spoken of him often.

Absolutely phenomenal guitars with such a rich history, but modern techniques that is setting the bar higher than ever. LOVE my Doc Watson model. David, Darren and the Gallagher team are rebuilding history that is tangible, and you can literally feel it resonating through this instrument. Bravo guys!

My wife and I visited Gallagher in Murfreesboro last year when JP Cormier came to play. Happy to see Acoustic Shoppe establishing this relationship. Had I not just bought a Yairi DYMR70SB, I would have considered a Gallagher. Great video, keep up please.

Doc Watson, Clarence White, Tony Rice are the best flatpickers to ever pick up a guitar, I started listening to Doc in the early 70's, I always dreamed of owning a Gallagher guitar 🎸 I ordered a G50 in 2004, Gallagher called and said my guitar was ready, while speaking with Don's mother I told her I had a D18 Martin that needed some repair work, she said to bring it with me and Don would look at it, Don seen the guitar and agreed to do fix my Dad's Martin, I want to thank Don and Gallagher Guitars for making 2 of my life long dreams come true, and David for carrying on Gallagher Guitars.

Oh yes, I also remember visiting with Don’s mother back then when ordering my DW Signature. Really enjoyed that.

Great video. I have a G-50. There may be fancier guitars, but none better.

That was very informative, I heard of Gallagher guitars but never seen one up close. I been watching Doc Watson for as long as iI can remember, Just so talented. But I did notice the last couple of years they have been getting very much in demand. Thanks for the great video, that's all I got 10-4 I'm out!
