Also, though he hasn't made clothes for humans, he's had years of experience working on Hina dolls which include tons of detail work including the fabrics for the kimonos they wear. It's been happening in quite a few romance anime lately. Reminds me of "my life as a villainess", when the main character sees her adopted brother go into a fit of depression and lock himself in his room (as per the otome game script), and she's like "eff that" and takes an axe off the wall and chops down the door to tell him she isn't going to let him do this alone. A lot of these romcoms are going the "chop the door down" route on these tropes. I love it! Gets past the hangups and into more interesting developments!

The English dub of the part where she is searching for Gojo is really fun, you should check it! Marin is voiced by AmaLee who does English covers of anime openings and endings here on youtube. Also, Gojo says "beautiful" once in the episode, you just probably didn't notice because you didn't have the context at that time yet. Also also, I really like how the girl gang reacts to Marin and Gojo meeting in the school. On the surface, they do seem a bit like your usual mean girl squad, probably by design. But in reality they are quite the opposite. When they saw Marin and Gojo together, their first reaction was to see if Gojo needs help, because they know exactly how difficult it could be to deal with Marin.

I really love Gojo and Marin's character traits and how they're portrayed with dynamism through each episode and I'm glad they don't linger on a single issue for an annoyingly long time (like Gojo avoiding her at the start). Also Gojo feeling like he shouldn't be around people isn't really an anime trope and it's more of just something people with low confidence can go through. I've had depression my whole life and during high school (about 12 years ago) people would try to talk to me and I really thought they were just making fun of me out of boredom. I know better now that I really made school a lot harder for myself. 10 years later I was working with an old classmate and she actually remembered me despite only talking to me for a very short amount of time. Back then I thought there's no way anyone would actually want to communicate with me when there's so many more interesting people around so I'd cut conversations short. Hell I almost felt like a different species at times because I just couldn't connect with people like others could. I always felt disassociated and had a lot of professional therapy over it but he told me after awhile it's just how I am. Anyways she ended up confessing through one of our shifts that she tried talking to me because she had a crush on me and was trying to get me to open up to her. I felt incredibly bad for her because back than there was no way in Hell I would of believed that and would of brushed it off as just being teased for shits and giggles. It caught me way off guard. Turns out ignoring her was better for her since now she's married with kids and I was happy for her! She got an upgraded job a couple months after that conversation and I haven't seen her since but she really put my old school life into perspective and it was probably just my lack of confidence keeping me down when people were genuinely just curious about me, according to her anyways.

I recently finished high school and I remember going to one of the last school events and we had to wait and I ended up just standing somewhere not feeling comfortable to go anywhere or talk to anyone... My character is way different, but I still somehow feel like I can relate.

If you read manga at all, I would give this a read, the author puts little notes about her process and stuff its really cool. Like the wig store they go to in this episode is a real store, she went there for reference and they said she could use the name.

And author wrote she was really embarrassed to ask taking reference pictures than store owner was cool and said it would be good publicity for the store so she can use the name she just take the real pictures of the store put a manga filter on it and put it straight to the manga panel. And it clearly shows that on anime to. That's a real ass store with animated characters shopping in it 😆😆

I'm pretty sure the tissues just imply cleaning up after the dream, but... The saving grace of the "i must avoid you to protect your reputation" trope here is how _quickly_ it gets dismissed. It's what, a total of five minutes total? I've seen shows that took multiple episodes to get past that. But here it's just set up and Marin knocks it down. Something that makes the hentai discussion outside the restaurant worse? Japanese sometimes isn't super clear about the subjects of sentences, so while Gojou's describing the game character, it's also possible to hear it as "When _I_ was in front of the assembly and couldn't stop ejaculating," which i think makes everything worse. Personal theory here, but I'm convinced that the scene when Gojou is first seeing his grandpa's dolls is very soon after his parents passed away. He's there because that's now where he's staying. When he says "I couldn't believe that something so beautiful could exist in this world"? I think that means this world that would leave him without his parents. He found beauty and purpose in that moment, after so much loss - - and then he tried to share it with the little neighbor girl and got hated because of it. I think _that's_ why that rejection has made such an impact on his life.

The reason Marin is one of Anime/Manga's Best Girls isn't just her looks. Not by a long shot. So that being recognised by Alicia is great. But also, Gojo is definitely better than those boring black-slate protagonists that somehow just lucks into encountering girls etc. designed for "weebs&otakus" to self-project on. That's because this series actually goes in hard on the cosplay industry and the many aspects. From the clothes making to the social media to the cons visited to the photoshoots to the (as Alicia said) crosplay,...and because it tries to be something else than just a generic ecchi romcom with cosplay as the gimick to add just a hint of different, it heavily invests in actually developping the characters.
