Today we go shopping for new fish for some of the aquariums. I wanted to find some asian type fish for the new asian based aquarium... but had no luck. I did however find other fish i just had to have... of course. lol

I hope you and your family are feeling better! I think what you and Jeff are doing for Matt is very kind and thoughtful and I'm sure he'll appreciate it. I'm excited to see what fish you came home with and to see where they ended up in regards to your fish room. I think I would be more surprised if you came home with the second flowerhorn just because you've already mention he's taking up a tank in the fish galley and you have limited tank mates cause he's a bully. So I'm voting no you didn't bring him home!

Great video! Super informative! I recently got into fresh water aquariums accidentally when I saved a goldfish I was supposed to feed to my pet ants. After that, it all snowballed! I know this is a very common way people get into aquariums. Your channel has been a pleasure to learn from!

Growing out some monsters sounds like a great idea! :) Seriously, I think it would be interesting to see how a fish grows every week (doesn't have to be 10 of them)... And if it gets too big, you can sell it anyways...

I'm a Gourami person on the same level that your a stingray person. but due to my current space limitation, I only have a 15 litre tank with a pair of Licorice Gouramis. I would recommend you get a big mixture of Gold, Blue, Three Spot and Opaline as they are all pretty much the same species, just different colour morphs. A nice fish to add to the Gouramis would be a shoal of Glass Catfish, very often overlooked (obviously) but fairly inexpensive for such an unusual animal. You might help spark interest in this fish for others.

I think a community Asian tank w a focus on dwarf gourami would be incredible. Especially sine you have the space for a ton of them so they won’t fight like my experience keeping small groups... idk if that makes sense but I love gourami. I think they have really nice personalities and are interesting to watch.

Yes do a Gourami Tank! I have one too, it so amazing to have all the different types of gourami. I have moonlight, gold, opaline, three spot, gold honey, pearl, sparkling, sunset, power blue dwarf, and dwarf. They all have such beautiful and amazing color!

a mixed gourami tank would be awesome. i've vekp (EDIT kept) multiple species together, they seem to do fine. opalines and pearls are the most aggressive but even they are simply territorial. limit stocking to a pair or trio of each species and you should be good, a 120 would be plenty of space. youd have to work out which kind of bottom feeders and shrimps you want to keep with them.

Pearls are some of the least aggressive. Blue and gold Gouramis are much more aggressive than them

I already have the Hengel's Rasbora so expanding that group and building around it is my plan. I'm very fond of rasbora and I'm inclined to geek out on one species. 😊

Whatever you do, You need a Betta. Betta keepers are such a large part of fish keeping community, and i’m not talking about the betta keepers who keep it in a .5 gallon bowl without filtration or a heater. i’m talking about the large Betta community of betta keepers who ensure the best for their betta. Agression might be an issue so it’s probably not best to keep one in the asian tank, but perhaps (do your research first) a sorority if you support that, and get a 10-15 gallon for a male betta, which would pair fine with a school of rasbora and maybe even some corydora.

Highly recommend Sidthimunki loaches ^_^ These little guys have such awesome personality in a decent sized school. I think loaches as a whole might be really underrated, and it would be cool to shine some light on the non-clownloaches of the world xD

I love clown loaches! I kept a community tank as a kid and they were one of my favorites, because of their fun personalities :) but I was also partial to my dwarf gouramis, guppies, and platys too :) I basically loved all the fish I kept.

Joey.... for your Asian tank you should do all types of gouramis. The dwarf gourami is the most stunning I’m my opinion. And then for the 2000g you should get some peacock bass. They will fill out the tank nicely.
