It's incredible How the city of Liberia has developed... I went there many years ago... and it was a small town... but now it's a city with all the comforts... incredible... !!!

It's going to grow a lot more in the near future. Between the airport and the city there's been a planned development which has a manmade lake, huge project. In the last few months it's started going under construction.

Would you recommend a place to stay for one night ? We are staying on the coast for three nights but love to explore towns in the area.

I stayed at Hotel Primavera, it's right downtown in Liberia across from the church. It's 2 star but very cheap, and they lock the entrance at night. maps.app.goo.gl/6g7seVArzU4hRTwU8 If you're looking for higher end accommodations there's hotels in Liberia but I haven't stayed at them.

Is liberia safer than san Jose's?

Liberia is much smaller than San Jose, and the downtown area is pretty safe. San Jose is huge with a couple areas that aren't considered safe. Most of the areas you'd find yourself in San Jose are very safe in my opinion. For example, the downtown during the day, Barrio Escalante is pretty nice, Escazu is high high end area, the area to the east called Tres Rios is very nice.

If I have no luggage. And enjoy walking. Can I walk from the airport to Liberia downtown that you showed in this video... I do not mind walking upwards of 15 km

I would suggest absolutely not. The road from the airport to Liberia is long, pretty high speed and narrow. If you were to start closer to Liberia, perhaps around the Walmart, that would be no problem at all.
