The traditional rugs at 5:20 that I agree seem a little Peruvian are actually with traditional Bulgarian patterns. These patterns are called shevitsi (plural, singular is shevitsa). In the past Bulgarians believed that different types of patterns carried a different type of energy and having more of certain patterns at home would bring you more of that energy. These are also found on traditional clothing. Btw the traditional shop owner was initially going to overcharge you but felt guilty and that's why the price of the pot you bought was that much cheaper. You weren't overcharged at any point throughout this video. I don't know why I felt as uncomfortable watching the video as i did but it was wholesome in a way how you and the locals managed to get along without understanding each other. Thanks for visiting and I hope you come around again!
