Apparently, they have said they didn’t understand a single English phrase they were singing, when they did these interstitials. That they sung the English parts phonetically.

I used to like shopping malls. Now they've gone from being like 60-70% women's clothing stores to more like 90% women's clothing stores.

This must have been around the time Miguel voluntarily left the group. They had the footage recorded but notice how they avoid any closeups of Miguel. Especially at 2:56, they put a still of Johnny and Ricky instead of where Miguel’s closeup would be.

According to Plaza Las Americas Wikipedia by then when Menudo was there. Stores included were Sears, JC Penney and Woolworths. So yes you can buy anything there.
@oppressednolonger14973 жыл бұрын
pretty much all except, dude, tomatoes? was that a thing ha, I guess they were planning on that soon enough (that year or so)..A&P was going to saddle up next to Penneys & Sears coming to a mall near you..? >< LOL.
@@scottandrewhutchins Not familar with actually entering a Woolworths, only seen them while traveling, and never actually seen one in a mall, and never as an 'anchor' store. Maybe they were in other locales. I think it really depended on the particular mall, its location etc. The ones I grew up nearest to (at least 2 of them and a 3rd popping up in the 90s) had no food or grocery items in any shops. And no Woolworths to be found. So it does depend on the location. Only novelty packaged food items could be found, not really produce (mostly marketed as gifts) for example. And of course there were eat-in places like the classic food courts, and even as the trend caught on, those coffee places that were often popped up and tended to be located outside the food court areas. They would have ready to eat foods like cookies, muffins, pastry that were usually peddled to complement the coffee drinks that grew in popularity at the time.

@@oppressednolonger1497 Woolworth's went out of business in 1992. I seem to remember them having a small grocery section, but I could be wrong. I remember the lunch counter was always closed when I was there, so when I learned about the importance of Woolworth's lunch counters in the Civil Rights movement, I was a bit surprised. Maybe it was the wrong time of day, or maybe it was too much of a hassle to keep someone on staff.
@scottandrewhutchins2 жыл бұрын
@@oppressednolonger1497 I don't think Woolworth's was big enough to be an anchor store, but most if not all of the Indianapolis malls had one. I think the Washington Square Mall store had the lunch counter in the basement. We lived on the north side and usually went to Castleton Square Mall. It was the largest except for Greenwood Park Mall, but the most straightforward and least interesting to me as a kid. I liked the malls with the twists and turns and bays of video games in the middle of the mall. The craziest one was the Bazaar at Keystone at the Crossing, but we almost never went in there even though we passed it to get to Castleton Square. I have three memories of it. There is some video of it on KZbin from when it first opened in the early '70s. It got torn down before I became a teenager. The last time I was in there, I saw an ultra-rare Jack the Giant Killer arcade game. I've never gotten to play it. One of the only other times I saw it was on the back of a flatbed truck on the interstate.

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. Male. I saw this in 5th grade (a GREAT year for me) on Saturdays. In 8th grade, there was a big guy named James Garcia (not his real LAST name). One day, three SIXTH graders called him "The Fat Boy!" To "Shopping Mall" tune, I made up these words and sang them to James: "If you've ever seen James Garcia (not his real last name), You would call him a real fat boy!! Looking at James Garcia, You would say that he's a real fat boy!! Looking at James Garcia, You would say that he's fat! The other day I saw, some sixth graders calling him a Fat Boy! Fat Boy, Fat Boy! Fat Boy, Fat Boy! James Garcia is a real fat boy, Oh oh oh, Fat Boy, the Fat Boy!" Pretty good!

I would add Claus Von Strauffenberg. But I am not sure he really opposed the extermination policy of the Nazis, he just thought they had a losing strategy i.e. were not able to apply Nazism and have German Domination.
