I have lived in an apartment on my own in NYC for the past two years and the single most useful thing I had was a TV (which I think you are already getting?). Even if you are not a big TV watcher, it makes a HUGE difference having it on for background noise when you're feeling lonely. I also liked it for watching the evening news while I ate dinner and turning that into a routine. So a TV is a must for me!!!

If you need extra counter space/want more. Buy a bar cart for your microwave & coffee, or your coffee maker. I put it where the trash can would normally be at the end of my bar and it’s a life saver and I can move it (it has wheels)!

I just moved into my first post-grad apartment and I found that TJMaxx/Homegoods/Target is actually cheaper than Amazon! And usually cuter, too! I got my barstools from homegoods for $39 each and they’re super cute!
