I did Dealers Choice a few years back, it was a monsoon, what a mess. The big secret of that market is that the Pavilion Dealers actually make the most money in the middle of the night. They set up the day before and high end buyers(dealers) actually buy spaces in the field that they never intend to set up in. They are basically paying for a full rent space just to go picking. Notice there's always a few of empty spots. Then they hit the Pavilion dealers and get the best stuff. I know two dealers in particular that sell jewelry and better quality smalls and they probably do 15k-30k before the $5.00 crowd has had their Quality Inn free breakfast!

Thanks so much for taking us along your Brimfield adventure!! I have been there in the spring, summer , fall and agree that Spring is the best with all new items collected over the winter. We are usually on the hunt for old hickory furniture , magazine racks , and old hickory floor lamps for our house. Hard to come by!! However, I can appreciate a lot of different vintage and antique items. Sorry that we can't make it this year. I'll have to live vicariously through you...

I usually go to the summer one, but this yr we're going to hit spring (tmrw), but a friend of mine told me that fall is the better one to go to as far as deals because most dealers are trying to get rid of everything so they can come back fresh in spring....but, I don't know, I haven't been able to get there in the fall so far!

Hi Dave! At 5:17 in this vid you bought that Chinese embroidery. If I’m not mistaken, it looks very much like those Chinese Imperial Robe rank badges of the Mandarins (government officials) from the 19th Century, Qing Dynasty. Yellow was the Imperial colour. I don’t know what the bird represents. Maybe like for example the Royal gardener of the Imperial household, etc.... I noticed the old label on the back which may hold more clues. Apparently, John Mathieson & Co sold prints in the 1930’s to 40’s. During that time lots of Chinese antiquities would be flowing out of China during the instability of warlord control and Japanese invasion. You got it for a steal. No wonder you snatched that up once he said $35. Could be worth hundreds of dollars. Definitely research it. Awesome finds my friend! Cheers! CP

Just curious Dave, how many people know how to test Turquoise? I met a American Indian when I was a teenager and he taught me how to test the stones. I have went to buy Turquoise and explained that I wanted to test it and how and had many dealers say no I can't test it. So of course I didn't buy from them. Anyway the way to test will ruin take stones. You pull a hair pay it tightly over the stone and strike a match. If it's real the hair won't burn. It only works with matches not fire from anything else. It's a chemical reaction. Ok long story but fun facts. Yes Dave you walk real fast and it can make us a little dizzy. I look away and then go back so I don't miss anything! Thanks for sharing!💞💞💞
