For people confused with all the different labels on the jewelry: A genuine gemstone is one that is found in a natural source and has undergone treatment to help improve the cut or appearance. A simulated stone is made in a lab using materials that are not the same as the chemical composition of the gemstone it is a substitute for. A created gemstone is one made from the same materials as the authentic, but created in a lab instead of being mined from the Earth. Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a cubic crystalline. Is low cost, durable, and has a close visual likeness to diamonds.

The thing about Walmart jewelry is that the lower cost stuff is plated with simulated stones. The real 10k gold is legit, but they sometimes used lab created or simulated stones as well as CZ, which are fake diamonds. Yes you can get 14k gold and real diamonds there too, but you'll pay similar to any jewelry store. Also, some of the colored gemstone jewelry in this video that was marked "new" for $148, I bought recently for $35 each on clearance. Most of this stuff never sells full price but you can check back periodically and be patient and then snipe it on clearance. Never pay full price for Walmart jewelry unless you don't mind paying extra.

It doesn’t turn it fades. Simulated stones are cheaper then genuine. It all depends on your price range and what you want from your jewelry.
