Shore Fishing in the Gare Loch for Dogfish

The scene of my first double figure shore caught cod. 13lb 2oz. It was just on the other side of the slipway from where you're fishing. Right in front of the outdoor centre. To put it in context, that was in 1978, a time when cod were plentiful in the Gareloch. It's a sad sign of the times when we have to target species such as LSD for sport when back in those days they were considered a nuisance. Anyway, you seemed quite philosophical about blanking and even the weather. Tight lines.

When can you catch micro and Porlock there

You'll catch pollack all year round although may need some deeper waters in the colder months. Mackerel tends to be through the summer peaking into late July early August 👍
