The first fishing video upload from the Mersey Specimen Sea Anglers (MSSA)
A shore fishing session at Cable Bay on Anglesey by Rich and Jay looking to catch thornback rays and bullhuss. It was a slow start with no bites in the first 6 hours of fishing but we sat it out and kept putting out baits waiting for the fish to move in or come on the feed. When they did, we had a hectic couple of hours enjoyable fishing in some beautiful spring weather, including a new PB huss for Jay at 11lb 9oz.
We fished with dongle rigs which are excellent for fish care as all fish were hooked in the corner of the mouth.

Just come across this video and you're absolutely right about fishing the dongle rig. Been using them just recently and like you say, lip hooked so great for fish care and yes, they put up some great sport when you try to get them in !

what was the length of the snood body for that doggle & length of the main body rig& what size lb was you using on the rig please🐟👍

Hello Gary. The rig is all down to your own preference mate. You can use whatever size you like and the dongle has got to be basically the same size as the bait your using. The dongle has been around for years but I’ve only started using it 12 months ago and loved the idea and the results.

Great filming of a superb session guys. I fished Ty croes, which is only next door, hard on the 18th without a touch, but it was 2 hrs either side of high in blazing sunshine, so I suspect I was getting what you were getting for the first 6 hours! Do you think it was the state of tide that switched the fish on, or the losing of the daylight, or prob a combination of both.I take it the fish came on strong around low water? Keep up the great work. JJ.
