Shore Jigging - Amberjack C&R and huge fish got away

1st November, quite early morning without a strike on lures and then I decided to change spot to try some jigging. After an hour finally strike but such strong strike that I never felt before! It is so strong that pull me down the rocks and I still don't know how I didn't fall down! Rod is bent like never before, reel doesn't stop to scream! I know that equipment is good and strong but not strong enough... buy my opinion huge amberjack manage to reach bottom and my braid hits the rock and fluorocarbon leader didn't make it! I feel happiness and sadness at same time! One more big fish lost! After that I manage to catch one small amberjack and I release it back!
Equipment used:
Rod: Xzoga Black Mamba 3m, 20-80g
Reel: Shimano Twin Power SW 5000 XG
Braid: Daiwa Tournament Evo8 0.20mm
Floro: Daiwa Prorex 0.45mm

Yes, but you have already lost several fish like this by releasing the brake of the reel a lot as the fish pulls you have to graduate it but you lose them with any friction with a rock. It is what I seen.

Well done my friend. Pity that happened but all part of the amazing game. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Was fishing with my light setup and something big took it all away for me. Let's just say we learn and pray we get hit on our heavy setup! 😉 quick question.. considering a medium setup for jigs from 40 -60/70 g. Not too sure what I'm going for. Either the shimano twinpower sw5000 or the daiwa certate ark.

Hello it is good rod but it is better for spinning with bigger lures... It is ok with jigging too but for jigs up to 60 grams.

Well, the worst situation you can have (excluding the rod breaking) in a fishing. Lost lure and fish plus you didn't see what was it and size of it, you can only guess. And only good thing about this is the moment when it starts spooling the reel, the moment of joy when you hear the reel and when rod starts bending. That is what we come for but still, this realy hurts, even when I just look on video... :-)
