Welcome to another video! In April 2022, I took a trip down to New London, CT to ride a little known commuter rail line. Shore Line East operates local train service between the cities of New London and New Haven, Connecticut in the Northeast United States. It's a part of CT Rail which is a state supported commuter rail service overseen by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. This video was filmed during the final weeks of diesel powered operation on Shore Line East. Just weeks later In late May 2022, CT Rail received electric powered Kawasaki M8 EMU’s from Metro-North which replaced these rare Mafersa coaches which had been going up and down the Connecticut coast for many years. Join me as we take a closer look at one of the lesser known commuter rail services in the United States, CT Rail's Shore Line East from New London to New Haven's Union Station!
Enjoy the video!
