As a cheer coach I would like to say this routine was not totally bad. However, the choice of music and some of the dance moves were entirely too provocative. I'm very young and I understand being in high school you are trying to appeal to your audience, but you don't have to put all of yourself out there to get thumbs up for being excellent cheerleaders. If you focus on cheering, stunting, and tumbling (which I saw none of) the skills will speak for themselves. Cheerleaders are athletes, not objects to be drooled all over. Your coach should know better. :(

Laura Lewis I totally agree with your comment. Maybe this was homecoming some the "routine" was more laid back. I know as a coaching during the homecoming pep really we aren't as uniformed or polished, its more free and fun.. I'm gonna hope that this was the case in this video.

When I’m Seeing routines like this, even if they aren’t the most appropriate sometimes. I get happy, because honestly if the cheerleaders are having fun and a lot the crowd is getting hyped then it’s a successful routine🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

I feel sorry for them. I've been cheering for 6 years including a competition team and I would feel embarrassed if I was them. They not only made cheerleaders look like the stereotype that we have been trying to get away from, but made the stunts, that most teams work hard on and are one of the main things that prove were a sport,look terrible. That wasn't even a basket toss, the bases barely threw her and she jumped the rest of the way. I understand they must have worked for weeks on this, and their technique on the dance was good and most had the splits, but do you really need to use provocative songs and use trashy dance moves? For future reference work on your stunts, flexibility, jumps(dear god work on the jumps), and don't make yourself look like trash by dancing that way. If your coach comes up with the routine and its like that again, do yourself a favor and stand up for yourself and don't do the dance.

Cheerleaders are not only supposed to be role models but also servants. They serve the community and cheer whether the team is winning or loosing. The thing that kills me the most is that I almost went to Shorecrest high school and was going to tryout for cheer, thank god I didn't. Just because this is "high school cheer" doesn't mean that you have dance like that. I didn't really understand the beginning of the routine when you guys bent over? Today in class people were talking about how this routine sucked so bad. I feel sorry to those who never spoke up, talk to your cheer coach. So many pretty girls with so much potential on this team should deserve a better routine than this. If you want to see a good homecoming routine watch Meadowdale and Edmonds Woodway...

If you have ever cheered a day in your life you would know how absolutely disgusting this routine was. These girls are in high school and are told to dance like that. There coach should get fired. I get that there having fun, before I went to cheer in college I remember all the routines that we did that were so fun. There’s better ways to have fun in cheerleading then shaking your ass and basically telling everyone that all the cheerleading stereotypes are right. If you have ever cheered and you think that routine was okay for high schoolers to be performing that just shows how bad your coaches were that they told you that cheerleaders should be dancing like that. I have been a cheerleader since kindergarten and I’m currently in my sophomore year of college, that’s 15 year I have been cheerleading. Routines like this should make those girls embarrassed. There coach or whoever choreographed that routine should feel like they have let down every cheer team in the world. Absolutely disgusting

Personally as a cheerleader I have always hated the stereotype that people think of cheerleaders as and this routine did not help but that routine did not do many things that cheerleaders should have in their routine like tumbling yeah they had some but most of it was dancing and there wasn’t many stunts either

Where are their mothers? My child would have been pulled from this squad immediately. Candy Shop is a song about sex, plain and simple, and "shake that a** girl" really? They are sending the wrong signal here. The coach should have been released of all duties following this "performance"/strip tease. Then people wonder why sexual assault is so high. I am not insinuating this gives the right to anybody to sexually assault these girls and anyone committing it is 100% responsible for his/her own actions. We must admit however, these types of "dances"/strip teases make young boys think "she wanted it." Again, not saying this gives anyone the right to do anything to them whatsoever, but bending over to Candy Shop in front of the entire student body is not becoming of a lady.

I have been cheering for 15 years and I agree. This routine was absolutely disgusting. There coach should be teaching them the things that matter instead of teaching them to shake there ass. I showed this routine to my college coach and she said she wanted to throw up. My coach said that the girls in this video have so much potential to be amazing if they were only given a real coach. She also said that there’s a very thin line between cheerleader and stripper in this video.

Not even trippin about the risqué dance moves in this routine. I’m more shocked about the fact that every single cheerleader’s jumps were terrible. Instead of putting so much time into learning a 5 minute long dance with slow transitions, focus on getting the basics down and perform a shorter but clean routine. If you can’t even do the jumps and stunts successfully then the rest of the routine doesn’t even matter. You end up looking like a hot mess
