Have one of these, took ownership in April. Love it. The fridge is huge. The tall storage in the slide out is handy for brooms, mops pool noodles etc. My wife loves the L shaped kitchen area. We put a Koolatron 12v cooler on a small table under the outside shelf and with griddle you now have an outside kitchen without taking up inside space..also no going in for drinks all the time. Lack of access with the slide out in hasn’t been a problem so far and don’t expect it to be. Only had 2 issues. Can’t adjust the fridge shelves as door won’t open far enough to take shelves out and move them, really not that big a deal. 2nd..power jack broke before first trip, replaced by dealer..so again no biggy. Highly recommend this unit as a couples trailer.

I like how you point out the positive and negatives. However one negative that never gets pointed out on the Murphy bed ( Yes we owned a Rockwood mini lite ) is the fact, with the side stands next to the bed, the only way to get out of bed is crawl and get out at the foot of the bed. And I'll tell you the human body was never designed to crawl on your back towards your feet.🤪 We now own a Rockwood ultralight 2606. Absolutely love it. My wife is in her 70s and I am a disabled vet. This is actually our 2104s. We found it much easier than the GeoPro 19FD we were originally looking at. Is it ideal, No but it is also worth the other benefits of added space, An that is why they make chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream

@@Tusk2001 Surely not knocking your RV choice at all. We had the 2507s mini light and it had a lot of fantastic features, we just didn't like to put the bed up and down twice a day. When we were shopping we put the bed up and down and it is very easy. the only thing we forgot to check is to lay down in the bed and try to get out so my post was just letting people be aware of that fact. Since we have a larger truck with the pulling capacity we moved up to the 2606 WS ultra light to have more room and not make the bed up and down. Happy camping 😁

Considered this trailer when we bought 2 yrs ago but opted for the ultra lite 2304ds. You were right Josh-no slam latches is disappointing...have them on our trailer- love the murphy bed-Rockwood needs to start offering cupboard in place of oven again especially in this floorplan where cupboard space is limited by the upper tv and microwave. Would love to see Rockwood option in the recessed cooktop “without an oven” In our 30 years of camping we have never used the indoor oven and always wish we just had a drawer instead for storage. 😉 We hope to pass our current 2013 Rockwood mini lite down to our nephew and get into a 2205S once inventories get back to normal. Loving the new fridges, solar and theater seating that weren’t available when we bought ours.

Rockwood Please 1. Upgrade the outside speakers to higher quality speakers or eliminate the them all together 2. Please offer a internal rear battery location to accommodate a single +450ah Lithium battery of which allows battery to be kept cooler in the Summer, warmer for Winter camping, prevents theft and located in the rear center takes weight off the tongue/hitch. 3. Upgrade the 1000w inverter to 2500w and add a soft start to the A/C for off grid use (dealer or consumer can add the soft start) 4. Please Upgrade the Dexter EZLube axels to proper closed grease bearing, independent suspension system with disc brakes.

@@aguyandhiscomputer In the compact Rickwood Geo Pro 19FD for example, 600w of solar with 450ah lithium system, 13,500 btu a/c, 3 to 4 hours continuous late afternoon into the night then recharging during the day. Even longer with today’s advanced 56 volt lithium systems. The old 12 V wet acid and AGM batteries are dinosaurs.

I have the Flagstaff MicroLite 21DS.... same difference! =) But three thoughts. 1. There needs to be a support for the legs when the bed is put down. It doesn't lock and there is no way to keep the legs from being pushed inward when the bed is down. I'm thinking a small wood piece could be placed perpendicular to the leg and pressed against the bed box. 2. I really wish there was a small access panel under that folding counter. The only way under the sink is by removing drawers and even then you have limited opening size. I'm thinking that a replacement drawer face from the dinette storage could be mounted as a door. 3. I love the table and its low weight. However it is not as stable as I'd like. I kind wish there was a better way to secure it... I'm considering velcro on the carpet. Just letting you know that I rewatch this when I can't go out into my own trailer and I'm working my thoughts out regarding mods. =)

I like how you showed it with the Slide IN... showing it would be impractical for going inside while waiting in a Ferry Line-up. All because of that counter with a sink sticking out. If my wife needs the bathroom, she'll have to climb over the sink and try to squeeze through the 5 or 6 inches the bathroom door can open.

IF you can open the slide, then this RV is one that does allow for partial deployment of the slide for quick access purposes. You don't want to actually USE the slide like that, though

It seems Rockwood does things just a little different than everyone else although they seem to be harder to find in stock on dealer lots. I've been searching for a Signature Series 5'er in any floorplan to show my wife, none within 150 miles of me in PA. Hopefully that will get better. I have the 2021 2104s...I really like the fact they moved the water filter access outside. I see a few improvement over our 2021 model. My wife still complains about the lack of room to get around the bed and her ability to get into bed. Also I do like the single access door instead of the double door on the passenger side of the trailer.

Love the Mini Lite line and I think the white exterior is preferable to the standard exterior (I think the "standard" tan...for both the Rockwood and Forest River versions...looks a little dated). I've always preferred the 2109S, but you make some excellent points about this one. I also never understood why this model is technically the "smaller" floorplan, but is 500-700 lbs heavier (dry weight) than the 2109S, but it appears from your video that it's got a bigger slide and a different slide mechanism, which probably accounts for the difference. Like you, I have very little to request/criticize about this floorplan. My biggest compliant is the small bedside and slide windows. I realize that windows are a major cost point in RVs, but in both the 2104S and the 2109S, I wish the porthole-size windows on either side of the bed were much bigger as well as the window in the slide. Looking at your camp-side exterior shot, I'm sure that the window on the side is limited by the placement of the awning arm (as well as the corresponding placement of the storage compartment door), but there are no such limits to window size on the other side of the trailer for the bedside and slide windows! Even in the GeoPro/E-Pro lineups, those windows are an issue...C'mon Rockwood/Forest River, give us some bigger windows!! Another small pet peeve is the fact that the exterior speakers are only spaced like 2-3 feet apart...what an afterthought...kind of defeats the point of stereo speakers! I really like your idea of having the option of swapping out the dinette for theater seating or even a sleeper sofa, especially since this is basically a couple's camper. Typically, I'm anti-dinette, but if I'm going to have one it's got to be a big U-dinette like this one...and the free-floating/movable table with it is key. But really, there's not much to dislike about this RV.

Speaker locations are due to the cabinet locations on the inside of the trailer.

The weight difference is 100% due to the slide but in two ways First, it’s just. A much larger slide. Floor flush and wider Secondly that type of slide in a 2104s has a drive bar thru the frame which requires a larger chassis

8:26 I was initially thinking I’d rather have overhead kitchen cabinets with the TV only facing the bed/simulated cinema seats 🆚 face the dinette & pivot towards them; but then with the overhead cabinets over the dinette you still get some storage (although having both storage areas would be my preference over TV viewing from the dinette; as that’s more of a conversation area over meals than the couch 🛋 & bed 🛌 to watch TV 📺 👀) 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm liking the Sport tire and Wheel package. Any reason why they don't still use the Goodyear tires? I would think that Goodyear would have a tire that would work? Some Goodyear Wranglers would look sweet on that. Just think here, what would you think about a 2205S With a Murphy bed? Queen size bed, full travel access and tons of open space! Not sure I've seen that floorplan yet. (I'm pretty sure I've seen all your videos too) Now for a suggestion, Could you do a video about the different surfaces in the RV's? And the difference between them. I'm sure they all have their pluses and minuses. Solid surface, pressed membrane etc. Thanks for all the videos!

It has a rack and pinion slide so if necessary you can partially deploy the slide and get to the bathroom. It’s also a more durable slide system. Would Rockwood do a custom order with slam latches on that trailer? Can the antenna be set up for LTE booster as well as WiFi Ranger?

No custom features like that available unfortunately The WiFi ranger can be upgraded to LTE so you’re good!

We got our 2104S from Haylett in May, love it. But there are two design issues. The Murphy bed squeaks and moans when you roll over. I wish they would have put in more structure to minimize that. The other issue is with the 12v fridge you can’t adjust the shelves without taking off the doors. These are minor annoyances in a great RV. A couple of quick notes. We live in TN and have the 13.5K AC. It work great on our 95 plus weekend camping trip. And it even shut off for up to 30 minutes in the mid day. In the tall baggage door we have 2 camp chairs, the fire poker and something which I can’t remember. This has only used about half the floor space. Thank you Rockwood and Haylett.

QUESTION: I have seen suggestions to always have Murphy bed DOWN while driving, to keep the latches from breaking away from cabinetry. Have you heard of any trouble with this Murphy bed latches breaking because of bumping around while on the road? Maybe keeping the sofa up helps?

That’s 100% the wrong thing to do with THIS Murphy bed. Rockwood Murphy beds need to be latched UP when traveling or they will break when hard bouncing But some others may actually need to stay down. And some don’t matter

If you’re not sure what kind of juice is coming out of that plug, then don’t go guessing. Have an electrician check. Might cost a few bucks but buddy the cost of frying your RV is a lot worse Assuming it is a 50amp plug you can get a 30-to-50 adapter and be good to go
