First of all everything that makes any film great is script! Improve the script , secondly how you convey the emotions ! Realistic expressions not like that robotic formal kind of upfront when your actually shooting a personel moment between freinds . It just makes it obvious that its acting.choice of music, environment,camera angles ,effects ,editiing are important.Extra effort is needed regarding those. You could have shown for example a man in police uniform while the crowd circling the body and a little blood on that white cloth and a shoe beside it and a man with camera taking pictures of the crime scene or whatever. So yeah this is literally too mediocre .Lack of effort thats it! Or maybe iam just taking it too serious...
