My hats off to you for daring to use cinematic mode within a wooded area. Toughest place for the mode to correctly focus without /blurring feathering incorrectly. I especially love the pallet & set dressing in the ending scenes. Well done 👍🏼

Thanks so much. I was able to lock focus on the tree and walk into the scene

I figured that’s how you achieved it. It’s all around effective, technically & emotionally. Easily the best short film I’ve seen utilizing cinematic mode. You’ve got me inspired from this & I’ve been wanting to give cinematic mode a fair shot in a script of my own that I’m sort of sitting on currently. It’s pretty obvious almost immediately to anyone that the AI has issues scrubs, branches, tree treetops or loose hair, but I’m curious if there’s any unexpected dilemma you had an encountered. If so, what was it & how did you find a work around?

It’s great to see you go out and shoot a short film at an older age. Colors in the forest look good. Reminds me The Walking Dead. Not sure what program your using to edit but I would put the footage into a project at 24fps which will make it more movie like. Also add some letter box black bars. Great to see you being inspired to shoot. Keep it going!!!
@theoldvideoguy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the constructive comments, I really appreciate it. I learned a lot on this shoot. Using the Iphone 13 Pro Max Cinema mode only give you the ability of shooting in 1080 30 frames. And not much dynamic range. Next time I shoot in Filmic Pro for the iPhone. I am editing in Resolve 17 like yourself.
@heynow28802 жыл бұрын
@@theoldvideoguy awesome. Yeah you can actually force the project into a 24fps timeline. It will drop the frames. Start the project as 24fps then when you bring the footage it will ask if you would like to change the frame rate. Say yes and your good to go. The 30fps is not a good look.
@theoldvideoguy2 жыл бұрын
That was not the best idea apple had. May be an update to have the cinematic mode shoot in 4k variable rates. As far as forcing the timeline, that's what I am just learning. Thanks for taking the time to help. Beautiful children BTW. Your blessed.
@heynow28802 жыл бұрын
@@theoldvideoguy thank you. Yeah let’s hope the iPhone 14 will have 4K cinematic mode 24fps,30fps and 60fps. This will be huge.

@@heynow2880 it would but I’d rather put my money into a GH5. I just tried to purchase one on Marketplace but the guy took off with my money. My bad though. Saving up again for the GH5. I even hate to admit that I let myself get ripped off. I have a G7

That was FANTASTIC! SO clever and right on boyfriend. Happy belated birthday! Hey, do you remember when mother got sick and I ended up being the "director" of the chorus when we went to the Hollywood church? I conducted until I had a solo part and then you took over and were conductor?
