This is the smallest, lightest, & least expensive of the North Trail travel trailers.. but none of those are the reasons this is my personal favorite of all of them. It's the BIG RV features they packed into a surprisingly light weight body that really caught my attention on this one!
The big true king bed allows you to get sheets that actually fit without needing any sort of specialty bedding. The sofa does EVERYTHING you could ever want in this small RV. And the front pass-thru is easily the biggest in capacity I've ever seen on a camper this size WITHOUT a drop frame!! It's awesome!
But there's also a few things about this RV I could see people NOT liking. So if this one is close but you're seeking something similar, then try these on for size and let me know which you prefer!!

Wow, this is great camper. In my younger days, single and camping and fishing ALL of my spare time, I would have thought I died and gone to heaven with this one. Two axles, no floor vents, 2" sidewalls, no carpet centralized air, etc. Like the decor and free floating table too. Head banging good job Josh.

Josh, I wanted to thank you for your recent help via one of your KZbin videos. After a much less then happy experience with the other large MI RV retailer. I took your suggestion and called the Coldwater store, and spoke to Matt Glassley. He was extremely helpful, and very straight forward. Most important, I did not feel he was trying to "just make a sale". Although the figures were not in our favor with having to move the model I wanted from the Iowa store to MI, I am still extremely happy with the experience. I ended up get the exact model I wanted from another dealer in Northern lower MI. I am an insurance adjuster and see a lot of people with total loss RV's every year. I am in the Macomb County area, but will without a doubt be recommending that people go see Bish's if they are looking to replace those total loss units. Again, thanks for the help. I wished the figures could have worked. But either way I am happy with the experience. If I choose to buy a RV in the , I will be sure to come see you guys first. Thanks again, and God Bless

It sounds like the basic construction of the trailer is solid, which is a major consideration for me. I like this sofa design better than the Rockwood 'wall bolster' arms! I like the shoe garage idea for under the bed, and glad to see they're including the doors on the pantry and bathroom storage. Also like how they put a radius corner on the bed closets. ALL corners in a small trailer should be that way in my mind...countertops, tables, etc. Like some others, I would actually ditch the king for a queen. Biggest drawbacks for me: the headknocker bed storage and the lack of solar. I know they're trying to max the storage but I'd rather see a plain shelf spanning the area than to be banging my head constantly or worrying about it. The lack of solar already installed gives the opportunity to design your own system (probably with a better layout or components than what's used for pre-installed) but if you don't know what you're doing, pre-installed is nice.

This rig would be awsome taking out that BIG storage and putting twin beds in. The storage could be under the twins yet create a walkway between the beds, much easier to get in and out of. I'd then create a single cabinet between them for hanging clothes and drawers for clothes to keep head space at a premium. Just my two cents. HEY ANDREW!!

Thanks Josh! We just closed on this one from the Coldwater store. This is our first camper and we look forward to using it. Ours is the 2023 with air fryer oven. We bought this based on your reviews. Ours was solar prepped and we are adding solar to it. Ours didn’t include a grill though. Update: we just picked this model up (2023) Friday. Our thoughts so far: we love what we got. The king bed is a little large for the area. We believe a camp queen would fit a little better. The king bed sticks out farther than the storage underneath so it would be a little awkward if you wanted to sit on the end to put your shoes on. Also, it is a little tight to move around the end of the bed to get to the sides. There are not cup holders or stands in the couch area. That would be a nice to have. Gas struts would be nice in the under bed storage. Power outlets are lacking in the kitchen area. It would be nice to have an outlet on the bed side of the kitchen cabinet or a tower of power in the counter top for a coffee pot or toaster. We are extremely happy with it so far. It was nice to actually meet you, Josh!

The basic construction appears to be very good but I still like the Cougar trailer in the size and layout. I thought at first this was a sister of the Grand Design because how high it sits and basically no wheel wells. I realize many people like the idea of a trailer with more ground clearance but this unit and the Grand Design turn myself off with such an exposed under belly plus the added height is just more wind drag but in saying this as a plus the wheel wells don’t stick up very high in the interior. Someone mentioned twin beds which would be in my opinion very nice. But the low profile king mattress gets me wondering how comfortable it is and people replacing it with a regular kind that is much thicker cutting down on head room even more. I also really wish some decision making with its design would have allowed for a longer awning. I coupon without the one bedroom window and a not so wide storage door for a longer awning. I am guessing the awning is about 15 feet but an 18 would be better in my opinion at least for me. I have missed feeling about the interior it just seemed to busy for my taste as for the porcelain toilet one of out trailers had the plastic plus we have had the porcelain ones before but I don’t understand why such a big deal is made if a trailer or rv has a plastic toilet. As for the lack of any solar it’s nice to add a custom system but it would have been nice if the connections were at least in place for the owner later on if they wanted to add solar. I still don’t understand the outlets or lack of better placement and possibly more of them but maybe they were trying to keep it a 30 amp trailer. I would have to actually see this trailer in person if I was in the market for a trailer verses my RV I have now. Very nice review Josh as always and I Thank You plus Cheers

@@JoshtheRVNerd always appreciate the feedback! The RV Rental Agency I work with has a 2018 NT 24BHS that has impressed me greatly on how well it has held up. Just a basic solar prep with roof connection and a marked spot for inverter and solar controller would be perfect…..and wiring thick enough to support 200w-400w solar application. Most people I know, serious about solar RV applications, invest in their own DIY systems (or part of the system) anyways. Would just be nice not to have to cut into a new camper and run/trace wires.

Overall a surprisingly nice layout and checks a lot of boxes. For a smaller trailer you actually get some counter space in the kitchen and a place for a waste basket. Love the big front exterior storage. The first couple of RVs I owned all had plastic toilets, and you know they worked fine. Only issue that I really ever had is when you get in an area that is Las Vegas hot, it is hard to contain the odors with plastic toilets. I would likely just use what's there until it wears out then upgrade. I would not mind so much the unit not having solar as my present RV does not have solar either. I don't think I would want the 12V fridge included in this unit without solar though.

When it comes to trailers of this size and/or layout (or basically every trailer that doesn’t have a bed slide), I think the Olympic Queen size bed, which is 66x80, should be the standard. Best of both worlds, lots of sleeping space, with reasonable “getting around the bed” space!

I really like this layout although I would opt for a residential queen size which I'm sure would not be a problem to swap out. It has decent kitchen prep area and I do like the backsplash but it is pretty limited on kitchen storage although I see that storage at the end of the bed that you demonstrated being a great place to store extra countertop appliances etc. Although there aren't outlets on the door end of the camper most of the countertop prep space is on the stove side so that's where you would probably need to be plugging things in so I kind of understand why they didn't put additional outlets near the sink. If I remember correctly electricity and water don't mix real well. It would be easy to put wall outlets in since this does have the 2-in sidewalls from what you have shared with us before. There is a decent pantry space. It would be nice if there was a queen option so that you could get a little bit more closet space in the bad area but that's not the end of the world. It's a decent bathroom as well. I'm not the biggest fan of radius showers but at least this one doesn't have a 2 ft tall step up in to get into it. The sofa is nice and is definitely multifunctional although I still for my personal use would prefer to have true theater seats but I love the dinofa. It really is packed with good features and a decent floor plan for such a small trailer. I know there are many people who would want a residential king bed so this could be a perfect unit for them. The outside storage up front is very impressive and I really appreciate the fact that they've insulated under the bed so that you aren't heating that storage area and freezing in bed. All in all are really nice unit. Oh and I like the color inside. It reads gray on camera but I'm not really sure what the true color is but it definitely makes the space lighter and brighter which I appreciate. Thanks Josh!

Rv'ing my entire life 28 yrs for the wife and I and I honestly don't get the want or need of a King bed in a RV....I'm 6'4" with the wife and 2 dogs 40 and 60lbs we fit on a queen just fine...these smaller closets and no room to stand on the side of the bed turns me off severely...I can see in the 50ft 5th wheel with east to west bed but even in those there's no side tables which sucks....when manufacturers start reducing storage space to accommodate these king beds I do a hard roll of the eyes....storage space in an rv is key before anything else...

I have the 2021 model. I don't like most of the new changes. Not a FSN of the new colors. I do like the new style sofa. WHY did the take away the caliber package. Mine with caliber package came with the road vac, porcelain toilet. Solid surface counters. And the rear fold down rack. Seems like they took 1 step forward and 2 steps back. We removed the king matress and put in a short queen, which opens things up a bit. Mine came with the propane/electric fridge which I prefer for boondocking, I have hit my head climbing out of bed a few times but it's not to bad. The large storage is great. But does make it a little tough to get to the side closets. I do really like the new front graphics.

It's a portable "park use" type trailer as it sets (at least in my view). Driving down the road your vehicle can run that fridge indefinitely via the 7-way plug charging the battery. Plugged in the solar wouldn't matter But you'll never hear me say "solar doesn't matter." I also see an RV like this sitting for times between uses. Even Cherokee's small "Juice Pack" gives you a good battery tender

I'd like to see you do one on a truly unique layout. Here is my take on it. I'm looking at Bish's in Idaho at a Heartland North Trail 26DBSS and this unique layout, stands out for OUR needs. It is interesting that the East Coast version (24DBS) is a bit different but not in obvious ways... I like the west coast version personally. The 26DBS has an "actual" door with a doorknob (as of March 2023/could change before I'm done writing) vs the folding door with magnets for the bunkroom in the 24. Further, there are small sliding doors under the bunk (storage area) on the 26's vs the 24's. The West coast version also still has a propane/elect refrigerator. I've seen a couple with the Lippert add a ladder hook up on the back but that might be dealer specific, not sure. You can buy the Lippert roof ladder after market if you want. I've also seen the slide button in different places on a few. I prefer the right in the door location... I live in the west and am looking at this layout as one of "her" boxes to check off is a doored bunkroom, but one of mine is as short as possible. ALL others with private bunk rooms are at least 34 feet and up. Plus we would like double bunks vs the teeny tiny bunks in most private bedrooms designed for kids under about thirteen years old. So, after extensive research, this is the shortest private bunkroom with double bunks that is out there in the American market...period... Nothing else is within 3.0 feet in length of this. It has many other "little" things that make it worth a look. One is the huge storage in front/slam doors, and the TPMS pre-set up. It's a very good weight with the wide stance axles and with GVWR under 10K and a loaded hitch weight of about 1K once its all set up, it is "Perfect" for our needs and that of a Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi. It has a huge gray water tank at 80 gallons so your boondocking without having to drain is upped by a couple days for a couple vs most others. So, even if you gotta haul water to fill up your water tank you still got gray water capacity. NICE, maybe I can leave the portable gray tank home. I still have right at 2K in payload left so can load up the bed with a generator and tools etc. The length alone at UNDER 31 Feet opens up quite a few more campsites across the board than once you cross that 32 to 33 foot length that tends to limit you quite a bit in choices...
