Being a 5'4" rider with boots on, I own an all stock tracer 900 base model and I can say I can just barely tiptoe the bike on one leg. Even with that, the lightness of the bike makes it manageable even for a short guy like me.

Excellent, I am glad you are enjoying your bike. Yes the light weight makes a big difference.

@Allindon: was this based on you adjusting the seat height to the lowest too? Also, did you install the tracer lowering kit? I'm 5'6 and i'm thinking of getting the 2021 tracer 9 GT but I'm really concerned about my foot not hitting the floor especially in traffic. I really love this bike and i can't think of any other soulmate for me to ride,lol.

I have travelled two up a few times with a 9st. person so it was manageable. Had to give precise instructions to get on and off etc. But anyone heavier I won't be comfortable.

@@Victor-fg1ky yes the seat was set to low height. the preload was stock. I just have to consciously look at the terrain and plan my stops so I dont put the wrong foot out on a sloping ground.

I like the look of this bike with the gt spec and lowering kit and a after market adjustable side stand this is on my short list a few mates at work have these and rave about them great honest review well done buddy

Thanks my friend 🙂. I really was impressed by the nimble handling and how deceptively light it felt. And yes I think the GT version is a must especially with the added quick shifter and cruise control 😃.

Will be watching your back catalogue, as a fellow 30" inseam rider it is nice to see reviews from that perspective plus the moving the bike around stuff which hardly anyone seems to do. One of the key selling points for my bike was that I can flat foot it very easily although she is a bit of a heavy beast to move around but that was a trade off I was happy to make. Keep up the good work and thanks for the sub, just noticed you subscribed to my little channel.

Thank you very much for your support, much appreciated 🙏. Like you I really am concerned by top heavy bikes especially for slow manoeuvres etc. Of course once on the move most heavy bikes are fine but reality sinks in when you have to live with it day in day out. You should video your bike on your mobile and upload with your brief commentary.

@@InfusedBiker No worries, I have a few videos planned but I am still sorting out how to best do the filming and sound but yes that is a good idea. Thanks

Excellent review! Very objective and unbiased. I just put a deposit down for the GT model and will be test riding it when the weather breaks. I was also considering the Tiger 900 but I feel better about my decision after hearing what you had to say about it. Also, the price differential is huge, by about $4000.

Congratulations Sir, It's a great bike especially the weight and handling. I am waiting to test ride the new Tracer 9GT as soon as it arrives at a local dealer.

Take into account your local dealership when buying a bike, is my advice. If they are not too far away from base and good in terms of service and professionalism, then factor that in e.g. I like BMW, but they are too far away from me and their warranty service is expensive. Whereas my local dealer looks after me and i have a good relationship with them. In your Tiger “review” you talked about just having one bike and clearly your constant cf Tiger vs GS indicated the GS would be a better choice for you, especially if you want to do the longer tours around Europe. (By the way, viewers should not emulate your filtering: if the traffic is going above 20 mph then stick to proper overtakes and never do more than 20 mph over the traffic you are filtering.) Your comment about TMF in that Tiger review: his GS is over 6 years old, he clearly loves it and he looks after his bikes really well. Personally I’ve given up thinking one bike does it all. There are far better bikes in terms of grin factor than any of these adventure tourers (Speed Twin for example); but you cant beat these adventure tourers for practicality, two up riding and all year round use. So you pays your money and takes your choice. The only thing I’d say is that for the money you pay for a GS you could get a good enough adventure tourer and a road bike. Also, with all respect, I wouldn’t keep mentioning your size, once is enough, thanks.

InfusedBiker the BMW f900 xr gets good write-ups; but it depends where your dealerships are. I guess in your area you are spoilt for choice.

Some new buyers would rather opt for TFT dash from other makes.
@InfusedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Yes I think it might even be cheaper but apparently the Yamaha TFT has the in-built heated grips control symbol which is not compatible with after market ones

Thanks for your reviews, I've been thinking about upgrading my Suzuki Vstrom 650, seat height is 83mm, and a bit top heavy, but I'm used to it now. I've been considering the tiger 900 gt , but your comments about the suspension are giving me pause, as there are many rough pavement roads around here. This yamaha is not available locally only the Mt09 which I think will be the naked version of the tracer. Not an option as i do a lot of highway riding.Any plan to test ride the Suzuki 1050 ? from you reviews only the R1250gs seem like a viable option for now ... heavy and $$$ ...
@InfusedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Armando. I think you should still go out for a test ride on the Tiger 900 - maybe I am oversensitive about the feel of the suspension and you may find it not too much problems. I am hoping to book a test ride on the V-Strom 1050 soon.

Tracer 900 has a seat height adjuster under the front seat ( a plastic frame that can be moved to 2 different positions) I wonder what setting was it on in this clip, as it can drop the height by quite a few mm.

Yes, the dealer told me that it was on the lowest setting.

Any sign of the 9gt which has a lower seat (810)?

Yes, from what I have read from their press launch the seat height has been lowered to 810mm. And unfortunately due to covid lockdown my nearest dealers haven't got one available until the end of April. 😒😏
