A great instructional Matty, inspirational. You mention a short 3 to connect the F1 short stop, but I don’t see this pole section advertised in the Preston 2021 tackle guide. Is this a special order from Preston? I have a Response XS Carp.

You should be able to get a Response short 3 - I guess there is only one in the range for all the poles. My original (not XS) Carp came with the short 3 as well as F1 kits but I guess the package changed.

Throwing the pellets seemed to bring the fish up in the water like micros would have. Do you think that squeezing the pellets into a small ball and potting them would have worked better? Cheers.

I just needed to feed more to send them down on deck, was pleasure fishing so that don’t help haha

Hey Matt, what sort of depth have you got there please mate? Would you of gone with feeding micros if it was shallower water or would this tactic work in shallow water too?

It’s about 4ft pal, and in shallow water I like to feed micros mate as I don’t feel you attract them as good with 4mms in shallow water
