I don't feel like the NASCAR commentators really understand the dynamics of circuit racing all that well. Comparing this to the commentary on a v8 supercars race for example. On the other hand I really like the stages. It's the same effect as a safety car, and those are always good. I think they need to firm up the rules on track limits though. Even on the esses the officiating is random.

There is too much talent in the Xfinity Series and I see three seats that should be open next year. Austin Dillon has to face facts that he doesn't have it. It's not just this year, last year as well was awful. Austin Hill would be a great replacement for him. Harrison Burton has never done anything in the Cup series, he barely did anything in the Xfinity series. Many possibilities of who can go in that car next year. Ryan Preece is proving he doesn't belong and the guy he replaced won the Xfinity Championship last year and has a great chance of doing it again this year, the ride should go back to him.

Why is NASCAR trying to do more and more races like this? The track isn't for these cars and these cars aren't for this track. There are circuits out there that would work, but this isn't one of em. @@nickb2049 Well, if there are no rules then why not. If the race is classified as unlimited then who cares about the track? I mean, if the track boundaries are not respected then why not race in the desert? Why do you need a track at all if it doesn't mean anything? Like for instance in Green Hell, if you don't respect the track, you will end up crashing to the walls at extreme speeds.
@nickb2049
@nickb2049 Ай бұрын
@@JariVasarainen when you say "Green Hell" I assume you mean the Nurburgring? notice on the nordschleife there isn't miles of paved runoff, the limit is the grass and gravel. thats where the limit is for NASCAR when they go to road courses, if a track has lots of pavement before the grass and gravel, they are going to use it.
@JariVasarainen
@JariVasarainen Ай бұрын
@@LiviaDunn That's the real problem for a spectator, we don't know. If the rules state that something is prohibited, then it should be shown clearly that the driver got the penalty and if that persists, a black flag. I mean as long as there's good safety areas to drive out that's good but what if we are talking about really difficult and dangerous tracks where there are no such safeties around? Who will finish the race, the overconfident one or the humble one, both being equally fast in lap times? Additionally, NASCAR oval races seem nowadays to concentrate on everything else than racing. It's all about beer, snacks and crashes. Not about who overtakes who at the limit of traction.
