How does removing the debt ceiling give spending power to the executive branch? Only Congress can tax and spend. The executive branch only gets money if Congress gives it to them. Getting rid of the debt ceiling, only removes the catastrophic possibility of defaulting on our debts. It gives no power to the executive branch as far as I can see.
