Glad you liked it! Yes we did the trip over a few days and we hired a car to drive around. We stayed at the Mito Plaza Hotel as our base for this one. It's a lovely hotel. Another time we visited the area for a quick weekend trip we stayed at Hotel Areaone Tokai for close proximity to Hitachi Seaside Park. It has rooms with four beds for families and is a cheaper option but is still clean with great hospitality and everything you need.
