Some of these 'features' seem to be gimcrack add-ons that either don't work (the bluetooth speaker that begs for a date with Dankpod's Maracas Cracker), are utterly trivial (I don't know about North America but here in the UK, chair fabric is meant to be flame resistant) or particularly pointless (underglow, a cushion that is actually a blanket case).

Commercial grade stuff usually has to meet certain minimums for flame retardation and I think some consumer items like couches specifically do too in the USA, but I think the point they missed was for smokers. Having known some chain smokers a lot of their home furniture was full of burn holes from cigarettes either knocking off the ember or dropping them in general but who knows could just be like you said extra "features" to inflate the value.

The items are raffled with tickets earned by participating in party games and joining in with the fancy dress theme. Last year, Luke attended as a bowl of cheeri-ohs and his girlfriend was a bottle of ketchup. There is one filmed Christmas party and that is on Channel Super Fun. Linus regrets filming it and thinks people getting self conscious ruined the atmosphere. Random fact: Tarran (the former editor) still uses the Razer laptop he won that year as his travelling edit machine on road trips.
