Why would they include home but not include end? Same goes for any 75% that choses not to use the full 6u height of the layout on the far right row; 65% is a bit more understandable if a knob is included but at the same time just alter the top row so that the knob isn't interfering with the columnar nav cluster. I do like the idea of the bar. So many keyboard have feet with terrible adjustment angles and typically they won't have rubber on them or only on the taller feet if there's two sets, whereas this not only has a better level of adjustment but it also has rubber at every possible adjustment, surprisingly the flat feet really aren't that great in comparison. I just wish they had a detent system or something to lock the bar in place if it does ever become loose, not to mention high friction hinges can become problematic when adjusting; it took us long enough to figure that out with laptops and even still the balance of friction in stability v adjustability is too fine for most manufacturers to care outside of this being a 'premium' feature. Though, I'd also like to see a bar at the front, some people prefer using a wrist pad, some people have standing desks with a lower surface or keyboard tray, the amount of extra adjustability is justifiable for next to no extra cost, whereas finding solutions around personal requirements if you don't have a standard setup are either expensive and/or jank; keyboard manufacturers could really be doing various niches some justice while not really increasing manufacturing costs, the only products I know of that have this level of adjustability are split ergos that can be tented but those also come with the niche tax.

So I just got this keyboard with the marble-mallow keycaps and I have to say this is one of the best keyboards I have ever owned! And I'm saying that coming from a Keychron Q1 pro. First off, it's no where near as tall as the Q1, so you get all the benefits of a Keychron Q1 but without the height and second, the keycaps are just a dream to type on. They have a very distinct textured feel to them. I would say its like typing on a soft piece of cardboard (texture wise) - and the summer breeze linear switches are completelty silent relative to Keychron red linear switched. OMG!!!! Is this keyboard the shit! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top shelf high quality keyboard. aesthetics are top level and only sweeten the deal!!! 👍👍👍👍

I'd pay good money to be able to sit down with Plouffe and just have him recommend EXACTLY the keyboard I'm looking for, or what parts/kit to buy. Everything on here always sounds amazing, but I like full size layout with a volume wheel, like the old Corsair K70. The problem is that every layout I like feels and sounds like crap, and everything that sounds and feels great is always a $600 wireless 60%, ALL of which are things I don't want. Plouffe just radiates friendly energy and I feel like he could nerd out about them and I'd learn a lot (more than I learned from watching every vid with him in it, which I already did. Yes, I saw the "Ultimate Mach Keyboard Guide" already.)

Search for the Ajazz AK60. Full metal chassis, 100% with volume wheel. £35 when I bought it. If you hate the switches swap em out, the amount of money you save is worth the extra effort in customisation to your liking.
@armani722 Жыл бұрын
When it comes to the custom keyboard space, if you're looking for a full-size keyboard, your options are going to be really limited, and knobs being also not too common, means that it's gonna be really hard to find something. In fact I don't think there is a custom with that config. You'll likely need to compromise somewhere, either a smaller layout (and get a seperate numpad if you need) or no knob. You can always use modifier keys to adjust volume, which is still pretty convenient imo

3:50 IMO, the hot-swap is good for repairability, since you can just swap the switches easily, which is great if the switches fail for one reason or another. It's a lot less work to fix compared to knowing how to solder, and having the equipment (and the right solder) for the job.
@LaXi0rCZ Жыл бұрын
My first mechanical keyboard was Corsair Strafe with silent switches. After 3 years one or two switches started double typing. They weren't hot swappable back then and I didn't want to mess with it too much, so I just bought a new keyboard. The large bottom case usually tends to reflect the ping frequencies so force break and even some butyl are needed to kill the ping entirely. I generally don't prefer this sound profile but you can probably mod it to shape the sound. The 200-300 mech key space is super competitive now

Currently on top of unhooking the cables from the PCB, i have to unscrew the USB C daughterboard in order to remove the rest of the plate and PCB assmbly from the top frmae on the Keychron or else I risk cracking the plate or the daughterboard. Hopefuly a Q1 refresh somewhere in teh future will change that to mimick the 81 Pro.
