this is possible with only resource packs, you could remodel a half block (like a trapdoor) into a log with a hole and place it into the block folder in the models folder named the same thing as the item

@@probablynotblufur nope. He placed the trapdoor on the top half of the log then crawled up the ledge of the log into it. This is easily doable with mods and would be harder to do with a resource pack
