All the ones I've seen are ohc motors just run a timing chain up to the cam and have it ontop it's a simpler and cheaper design that's more efficient.

Ohc is simple, cheap, and efficient. But pushrod is simpler and cheaper and more efficient than a flat head

@@erlend1554 Pushrod isn't always cheaper. Ohc just needs a timing chain and it takes up less space. It also takes out the play you get from pushrods giving you stiffer higher revving valves. You need 2 pushrods as well so you're not saving anything. It's more efficient, reliable, powerful, higher revving, and just as simple.

Nowadays ohc is the way to go, for reasons stated there ^ The reason push rods were used in the newest Viper was to reduce the height of the engine

This is a simplified version of a single cylinder OHV engine, and there is a LOT more to it than just this, but for the most part, this is most of the more significant internal parts of an engine.

Great, now add the intake and exhaust manifolds, spark plugs, carburettors, and the engine block and head. Could be better if it has a turbo, intercooler, alternator and timing belt

it uses pushrod valves which do not need a camshaft.

well, actually, it does use a camshaft but not overhead as it is driven directly by the crankshaft.
