Gaara barely freaking talks in Original Naruto, but every time he DOES talk it's either the most terrifying nightmare fuel you've ever heard in your life or it's the most deep, thought provoking stuff ever. Kind of speaking from the heart, in this one--- if he had even one person care about him after Yashamaru, Gaara could have turned out so different. It seems to me like he's admitting that if an evil person had loved him, he probably would have accepted that love rather than be alone. Basically - Everyone in Naruto needs THERAPY. It was always kind of wild to me that Orochimaru risked Kimimaro dying by giving him the curse mark at all. He knew Kimimaro was the last of his clan, but still did it.

Perhaps companionship of an evil person is preferable to loneliness. Such a hard hitting line

There's something that i always told myself is that Gaara's greatest enemy has always been the script. As he says himself, he could do anything with that sand, he could kill a person by introducing sand into the body, and killing the person from the inside. You just have to have imagination with it.

You said they dont mention it but they do. Kakashi mentions after the fight that this place is called the Final Valley and those are 2 hidden leaf founders.

Yeah I completely forgot until we got to that episode. I still feel like it should have been mentioned sooner.

I’m missing the premier, but I disagree you needed to have kimimaru have its own end; because even if we don’t like or don’t have interest in them. We still have connection to the character, and in anime or shows it is sometimes almost always needed in order to progress the overall theme/point of the story; because without it you won’t understand why he’s so motivated. It’s like watching Harry Potter, sure we could’ve had 7-8 movies about Harry learning about the wizarding world; but most of us wouldn’t have been interested if we didn’t get context of the villain Voldemort. Why is harry in danger? Why does he have to stay with the Dursleys? If you haven’t watched Harry Potter I will not spoil things, but some if not most of the arc’s revolves around the villain.
