Here in Venezuela musical tuition is free and stately run, instruments are assigned by the orchestra system (loaned) and the bassoon is one of the instruments taught.

As a bassoonist.... this is true... plus you think just the instrument is the cost, but then you see the cost of reeds.... bassoon is an amazing blessing and a curse at the same time.

What a lovely performance. I completed a quintet version with bass clarinet/clarinet but i dont know... I might like this more. Short bassoon has a bit of a harding time rounding out the sound in the lower registers but the beautiful melody almost saxophone like sound is incredible
