Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.. nothing more to say. Great story, loved these 2 hours, worth every minute. Sad end, when you see him starring to the picture at his son. So few seconds but it summits the whole plot and the main purpose. Great! This movie deserves recognition, spread it!

@@texan_in_thailand5119 i think it's supposed to be. imo it's about the brutality and inhumanity of the dual system - prisons and gangs, and how both completely erode and destroy the individual in favor of their own ends. regarding the gang, it's subsuming the individual for the gang's collective interests. for the prison system, its purpose is to break men who buck the system. the entire thing has an air of absolute hostility to it, where only predators can thrive

This movie was sooo good im obsessed, what started off as a 1.5 year sentence ended with how it did it's so heartbreaking and also I love how it's an eye opener to people who don't know much about the system and just straight up judge people and say they're criminals and were born into that kind of lifestyle or any kind of stereotype that comes along with it and this goes to show you how fucked up our system really is and the damage it really does and how instead of rehabilitating people it actually does the opposite and destroys people

They are criminals. They got in prison because they did bad things. They didn't go to prison because they were good guys. I got no pity for them. I have automatic weapons with hollow points for them. Most people aren't put into prison for rehabilitation. They are put there to be punished and to keep the law abiding people safe. No one goes to prison wanting rehabilitation. They go to do their time. You cannot force someone to be rehabilitated. But you can lock them up to keep society safe from them.

This is what we call a movie and cinema at purest form.. Amaazingggg.. Lead actor is unbelievable performer..for the first 15 mins i couldn't judge the shaved guy stickbroker and moustache guy are same.. So changed of character.. I personally rate this movie far better than the Godfella movies.. This is what we call a real gangster touch moviee.. Become a fan of Nocolaj

I was really surprised that Nicolas started as Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones. 'They' look nothing alike. Really scary that he can look so different yet is the same actor. Shot Caller will be a great cult movie. Looking forward to seeing Nicolas in other macabre movies. A fascinating actor.
