Can you please help me to understand why 2 direct shots is not 22 (11 + 11) numbers instead of 20?

Lets do one, all rolls containing a 5 or 6 . . . . ready? 1-5 5-1 2-5 5-2 3-5 5-3 4-5 5-4 5-5 6-5 5-6 and 1-6 6-1 2-6 6-2 3-6 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-6 = 20 . . . so there are the 20 rolls. Notice how 5-5 and 6-6 only occur once and you have to make sure to not use 5-6 and 6-5 when doing the 6's --->as they were already counted

If you need a 6, there are 11 hitters and not 12. That is because you count the 66 only 1 time. If you need a 5 or 6, there are 20 hitters. That is because you count the 66, 55, 56 only 1 time. When counting the 6, you are counting 65 already, so you don't have 11 hitters on the 5's, but only 9. When 1 direct shot: 11 hitters, 2 direct shots add 9 hitters, 3 direct shots add 7 hitters... so 11,20,27,32,35,36.

@@backgammonskillset Since you gain with cube equity, the take for money is 22%.

@@eonny Correct. For newer players I would call that a subtlety. Just like you might have 25% to take but a gap on the 4 and 5 point and 5 checkers on the 1 point and you might be looking at a drop despite being 25%. But yes you are correct , as a general concept it is important to learn that owning the cube has value.
