Nice review, as mentioned in the Facebook group if shot scope can add second shots in as well, as this would allow you to effectively map your way round par 5's, this might also be useful on very long par 4's as some folks may not be able to reach in 2.

totally agree, Adrian. I did wonder if the second shot option was available or not but it was the first proper look I'd had of MyStrategy, so didn't want to mention in case it was there and I was just missing it. Have been in touch with my contact at Shot Scope and the second shot feature is being worked on already, so will hopefully be here soon. With that, and a couple of tweaks, it's gonna get even better!!

I've had a look at this for my home course and a few others I play. Having your own shot tendencies and dispersion is a massive benefit as you don't have to guess if you would do this on google maps etc. One feature I'd like to see is being able to adjust the compass so you can see the hole from a different direction, i.e. a hole that's east to west would be easier to look at if it was up and down the screen

You should be able to adjust the direction of the hole. I just tried it on the mobile app and by pulling two fingers in different directions (one up and one down), it worked fine - this would work the same way oh my MacBook tracker pad too.

This is fantastic first thing I do in morning before round is put in wind strength and direction and make notes for tee shots massively helped my game 😊😊

Good idea doing it in the morning before your round. I think it’s a brilliant feature although I never usually do anything with the wind because I’m usually looking into my round a few days before, so no idea what the wind will do. Still, even without wind adjustment, it’s so useful!

I’m not a Shot Scope user but that’s definitely an interesting feature that could offer some value to those who are very thorough in their approach.

Definitely. I think it's a great idea and will definitely help with prep for playing new courses. I've always used a course's website to do my research or bought a strokesaver from the pro shop, so I think this one will be a much better option!

Thanks very much. I'll need to capture a more detailed video soon but it's a tool I've been trying out a lot recently and really like. Great addition for all Shot Scope users to make use of...for free.

I've actually been thinking about this and I'm not actually sure that would be all this useful, having tested this out quite a lot. The problem is that this would be reliant on you landing your tee shot exactly where you've positioned it in MyStragegy, which, in my experience is unlikely. Of course, it could be that you manage to do so but generally speaking, that's probably not going to happen for most users. Even finding a bunker off the tee or finding yourself 10 yards shorter than your initial position would lead to needing to use a different club for the second of third shot. With regards to how it works just now, I definitely think it's useful and has helped me play some good golf recently, especially on courses that I am not familiar with.

great thing about this is we can use it to create our own personal yardage book from screen shots with the detail we add. Unreal feature from shotscope imo.

Totally agree. I think it's excellent. I used it recently before playing Blairgowrie and despite most of the tees being winter tees, I still found doing my homework beforehand really useful. Maybe I should test it out on my home course to see if it can help me improve my performance through better decision making. It's quite easy to just stick to what you normally do when playing you home course but it could be worth trying out!

@@AndysGolfBlog I think sometimes we can take our home course for granted, so I’ve tried to apply a beginners mind and use My Strategy and DECADE principles to create a strategy for both courses at Blair. Looking forward to trying them out next weekend once we’re back on summer tees!

Anyone else had to send back 3 watches already? And the newest I have just ended the round at hole 14 without any reason. Is your hardware good? Software is great, but I am really struggling with the hw.

Sorry to hear this. I've been using the same x5 since pre-release and mine still works well. I did experience connectivity and battery issues after release, but the two firmware updates resolved this. I've captured over 40 rounds over the last year with my X5 and honestly haven't experienced the round ending issue, although I did hear about some cases of this soon after release, but apparently Shot Scope's firmware update resolved this. Not sure that was going on with your previous watches or your current one, but I can only talk from my own personal experience which has been good. Hope Shot Scope work with you to get this resolved and a watch to you that works as it should.

Interesting but it looks like the notes are added out of order. Your first shot note should be on top, not the bottom.

Yeah. There are a few things I’ve picked up on having went back in and taken a more detailed look - this is one of those things. I also think they should be numbered and being able to add more than 3 would be helpful. The fact you can’t add shots beyond the tee shot is a bit of an issue but that’s being worked on as far as I believe. Like most shot scope releases, it’s not perfect right now but after a bit of user feedback and effort, they’ll likely improve it massively very soon. Another great (free) addition at the very least!

@@AndysGolfBlog I'm sure I'll try it, at the very least. Issue is, in addition to the Shotscope watch, I carry a Skycaddie unit that I can't do without, as I get yardages to hazards, end of fairway, etc., without having to move a cursor on the screen with my finger, which can always be a bit inaccurate.
