I carry a full size 1911. Long and heavy, but it’s what I am the best with, it’s a trade off. I received a Galco Miami classic and tried carrying with it and found it to be very uncomfortable, and floppy. Can’t bend over to pick up a dropped anything without exposing the fact that I’m concealing. Plus the skinny straps are just too little. So I have particular needs. Need a shoulder holster that has wide straps, vertical holster with tie downs to the waist belt at least, and swivels upon drawing the weapon to make it easier to draw. Plus the weapon I’m carrying now has a fiber optic front sight that loves to catch, and a low pro rear sight that is flat in front. I’m not changing my sights so the holster has to accommodate them. Not only all of that, but I’d really like a custom 2 tone leather and POSSIBLY kydex holster with some kind of carvings or impressions etc to fancy it up. Maybe a silver concho too. So…. What say you Galco ?

I still prefer muzzle down carry shoulder rigs. I hate pointing the muzzle at my kids when driving especially if we crash. I know the guns have awesome internal safeties but I just can’t get over it mentally. I’ll take the wrist penalty with an old a school muzzle down rig.

I like galco shoulder holsters alot-I have 3 of them already, but they need to get with the times and truly innovate and make a shoylder holster that accommodates lights, and or reddots. After having a light on my gun, i always want a light on my gun

They are always improving, and evolving... before you get mad at a manufacturer, ask yourself if you would buy 10,000 units (for resale with small margin of profit) of the thing you wish they had.... for instance, i would have no problem buying 10k Ankle gloves for a M&P shield (they will definitely sell), but I probably wouldn’t for a less popular gun for that method of carry

We won't get into the actual usefulness of optics in most handgun engagements. But civilians often blame manufacturers for not making up for the time they spent on their ass instead of at the range. Tsk tsk

People just haven't experienced how easy it is to use a vertical holster, For one thing if not completely vertical it's not a bit of an angle. It conceals a lot better specially if you're going to carry the full size. People just assume it's going to be very awkward but it's not.

DeSantis has made a leather holster for I believe Glock with a light. I made one for a 1911, but it can really only be done with a thumb break.

I want a shoulder holster but, I don't want or need one for something I can easily conceal and carry inside or outside my waistband. I also don't want or need one for a larger firearm I can access faster while tromping about in the woods from my chest, hip, or leg, Mr. Bear is unbelievably fast. What I want is one I can throw on quickly at the cabin as I head for the outhouse, or carry comfortably all night, and that's the hint, everything I want to carry in a shoulder holster has a light, small to large, some with an optic some without but all with a light and that's the problem because the options are endless. So, I want/need/would-like a high-quality comfortable shoulder rig that will accept custom easily swappable shells.

With how gunfights happen I think its statically better for someone to carry a gun on each side instead of the 2 spare mags like stated weather for injuries or being faster than a reloaded or arming another ( an its nice to have access to a gun with either hand when in a fight..backups have turned into primaries may times in law enforcement ) ..and it balances the weight better ..that's the one thing I can see actually having a place in the real world that we see on movies..now for combat I think the more ammo the better but that's out my lane.. Darryl bolke has some great articles on shoulder rigs..it's simple not getting the attention it use to because of range rules

You can draw both without muzzling yourself. But it’s a very wide and un natural draw and one gun being higher than the other.
