how to place the layer video at different locations of the background video? I mean some times layer need to be at top right.. after 5 mins top left like...
@musicalboxbitspieces Жыл бұрын
This is what the Size, Position & Rotate filter is used for. See at 01:40. Say you want the overlay to move from the top left corner to the top right corner at the 5-minute mark. Move the playhead at the 5 minute position, split the overlay clip and change the Position values in the filter on the clip that is now on the right side of the playhead. You can also use keyframes if you don't want to split the clip.

@@unclealig did you click the "Transparent" button of the Crop: Rectangle filter?

can't I commit the change-cropped and start using the cropped part as a new video-form? e.g. i get a circle out of a square, but program still treats it as a whole square, not a cropped circle
@musicalboxbitspieces11 ай бұрын
You mean the square selection you see in the preview panel ? This selection is there to indicate the limits of the circle. It will always be square or rectangular.

Is there a way to make the border gradient-filled or patterned?
@musicalboxbitspieces2 жыл бұрын
Interesting challenge. I'll check it out and get back to you
@musicalboxbitspieces2 жыл бұрын
I found a way to do it. But it needs an additional track for the gradient. Instead of using the two crop filters on one clip, like in my tutorial here, you use them on two tracks. Track V1: your background image or video. No filter. Track V2: A color clip (any color). Add the gradient filter, and a Crop: Rectangle filter (Padding color: Transparent). Track V3: Your overlay video/image. Add a Crop: Rectangle filter (Padding color: Transparent). Also add a Size, Position & Rotate filter on top of the Crop filter to move the content of the overlay to fit the position of the Cropped area. Obviously, this is not as practical as the method in my video. If you want to move the entire overlay + border, you need to edit the position of the 2 crop filters, the position of the gradient AND the position of the SP&R filter. Here's a preview of all the filters I used. I hope this will be clear enough: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6CwpIJ3gZuSaJo

Great video!!! I wonder if it is possible to do a replace screen (green screen in laptop or tv screen) without using after effects. Using the keyframe is an option but i do not know if there is a better way to do it.
@musicalboxbitspieces2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thank you for your comment. I'm not sure I understand your question. Is it related to this tutorial or is it a different subject? What "screen" do you want to replace? And what do you mean by "after effect" ?
@neoarconte862 жыл бұрын
@@musicalboxbitspieces It is related to a different subject. I want to replace a green screen of a tv or phone in a video putting another video instead. But, all the tutorials that I saw use the program After effects, so I wanted to know if you know another way to do it in Shotcut. One option could be using video overlay and use keyframe to move one video following the green screen, but maybe you know a better way. I hope to be clear now, and thanks for your time!!!
@musicalboxbitspieces2 жыл бұрын
@@neoarconte86 OK, I understand now. The only way to do this in Shotcut is using keyframes. Shotcut doesn't have a motion tracking tool. But you can do it in other FREE programs (no need to pay for After Effect). Like Blender, Natron or Kdenlive. The easiest in my opinion would be Kdenlive. It's a free video editor more or less similar to Shotcut. And you'll find many tutorials on KZbin in relation with Motion tracking.

@musicalboxbitspieces2 жыл бұрын
Yes i is possible to do the same thing with the Mask: Simple Shape filter. But I find the Crop filter easier to use because we can edit it's size and position directly in the preview window. Thank you for the comment.
