If you see mesothelium it's a serosa,if you don't it's an adventitia.Go with this rule and you'll never be wrong.

+Camilla W Just like this Cardia-video is called Gastro-esophageal junction, the pylorus-video is called gastro-duodenal junction. You probably don't need that information anymore though!

Why shouldn't we see a serosa outside the abdominal esophagus? In our histology practicals, we learned that the thoracic part has an adventitia, and the abdominal part has a serosa. Or the rule for adventitia outside the esophagus mostly applies because these are not human sections?

No intraperitoneal organs have serosa and reteroperitoneal have adventitia. No such rule of abdominal and thoracic cavity. Ur reply was 8 years ago, so are you a md doctor now
