The birdshot was surprisingly effective. Not even close to what I had expected to be honest. Even at the longer range you first shot at, they might not be dead - but they would be in a _world_ of pain and more than likely blind too. So still taken out of the fight. Not to mention considering how much any head wound bleeds - even relatively small ones - they'd be bleeding pretty badly from all those holes. That was really eye-opening.

The ONLY survivor of a shotgun blast to the face in my experience of hundreds, was a 20 gauge. The guy stuck it under his and didn't angle the gun far enough back. So when it fired it took the middle 1/3 of his face off. Somehow he managed to call 911. Upon arrival the victim answered the door which was a super gruesome sight. One of my officers almost fainted. Never heard if the victim survived. I don't treat the subject of gunshot wounds lightheartedly. They're terrible, disgusting, messy, and destroy more lives than just the deceased.

The argument of a shotgun being outdated is crazy. Most shootings take place inside handgun range, well within shotgun range. We have all seen multiple videos of people soaking up pistol rounds. We have even seen people take multiple hits of 556 still on their feet. The energy transfer from 12ga is about a good as it gets in most self-defense shootings.

@UCHwoUge987AAWpx4E-RUz0g any and all guns can and will blow up if the wrong or improperly loaded ammunition. That's why every gun says in its Manual only use new factory loaded ammunition. KB accedent was found that the rounds were loaded improperly causing the build up of way to much pressure pressures over 100 thousand psi mark seribu did a series on what happened after going through the rifle. I would still trust his rifles and that one in particular. Watching the video you could see how hot those rounds were getting by the extreme muzzle blast it was making. mark also looked at the ammo used and he could tell they weren't govement grade manufactured by a contractor it was some dick head screwing around in his garage and sold the ammunition. I would trust the gun because I shoot fresh new ammunition from reputable manufacturers. Blaming marks company and rifle on a counterfeit round that was loaded way to hot is kinda dumb. Scott's problem was he didn't inspect unknown ammunition that's why it happened. It was like blaming Springfield for what there lobbyist did not the company even after the company fired the guy on the spot. Maybe read more into things before blaming people . The main person to blame is a guy in his garage who has no clue what he's doing making ammo and selling it.

The simple effectiveness of a 12 gauge is hilarious. All other guns get hours of analysis to find what works best. But with a shotgun it’s like fuck all that. Put in a slug or some 00 and call it a day. Whoever you shoot with that is going down, you’re going to be safe with a 12 gauge don’t even think about it.
@LuvBorderCollies3 жыл бұрын
Well, that all depends on how many pellets hit the perp in worthwhile parts. I've got a cylinder 12ga barrel that will only put 1 pellet of 00 from a primo Hornady Superformance. It will do that every time at 40 yards. Switch to Federal with Flite-Control #1 and all pellets are in a 5 inch circle at 50 yards, repeatedly. Test the ammo and the gun, you may get a pleasant surprise or a really bad shock.
