Of all the GVF songs Age Of Man may be their best live track. What am I saying, all of GVF live is absolutely amazing.

I think that much of Josh's early singing was self taught. Over the past few years he has a voice coach Ron Browning who is a mentor to many prominent singers. You can easily see his progress in quality and ease of singing. He is building a voice that will hold up long term. I believe he is a countertenor.

Yeah, he’s amazing. Such a great voice! Thanks for your comment!!

I had never heard of a countertenor before so I looked it and now I’m even more impressed with with Josh’s voice!
@sandifulmor8327 Жыл бұрын
He never had vocal lessons and just recently started working with vocal coach, Ron Browning to make sure he doesn’t blow out his voice. Love to hear you say you love his voice when I hear others say his voice gets on their nerves and all he does is scream. Shows how little they know. I know you’ve heard it before, but Age of Man at Red Rocks is where it’s at!

This is one of my favorites of GVF and it’s truly amazing live. Epic and thoughtful. I do believe they have natural talent but they’ve also worked incredibly hard. I was so happy to see that you are continuing with your GVF reactions…I found myself looking forward to them each day. Even when I don’t agree with you, I appreciate the thoughtful comments.

One of my favorite songs of this album. In my opinion though the live sounds so much better. I hope eventually you’ll check out the 2018 Red rocks version. In fact I look forward to you checking out any of their live performances, they are all so good. 😄

Could be interesting for you to react to an album track back to back with a live performance video of the song. Your reactions with your comparisons would be really entertaining.

These guys are the Torch for Real Rock and Roll. Their growing adding the nuances to their music. Their lyrics have meaning although metaphorical, still very good. Their songs don't run together or do under the same unlike many 80s and 90s hair bands. Their creating. Nashville, July 24th. I'm there. Bridgestone Arena! ROCK ON GVF

My favorite ❤️ It was already a favorite but when my brother died unexpectedly in June of 21 in vehicle accident I played this over and over. Sad story I know but I feel connected to him when this plays. He was a good man. I promise no more sad posts.

In this song Sammy is playing a mellotron a popular keyboard used in the 60's , 70's

Yes! I did recognize that sound. I didn’t say it in my reaction. But I’m very familiar with the Melotron. John Paul Jones used one as well. Thank you for the comment!

This song is mirrored in their next album by a song called age of machine. Happy to see this reaction !! Like everyone said, the live is still better. I love the drums in this song and the spiritual experience.

The live version is so beautiful. Robert Plant did acknowledge them when asked rather awkwardly about them being Led Zeppelin.2. And so the stupid online argument started about them 'copying' LZ. Josh's voice is natural but I am sure he has had vocal input just to ensure he doesn't cause any injury to his vocal folds, but I have been watching him and he knows instinctively how to sing in his head voice with ease. One day I must tell you about Justin Hawkins' critique of GVF and in particular, Highway Tune, which is what got everyone who wanted to hate GVF do the 'copying LZ'' blather. If you could copy LZ that would be a feat in itself. Anyone out there, try copying either one. I hope you have watched this live Mr Dunn!

I completely agree about them taking the torch of real, live, deep music in the sea of s#&t on the radio❤ I only listen to old musoc and them, can't listen to anything else.

Josh may have a vocal coach now to be able to sustain his health and voice for the long years of recording and performance to come, but he’s most definitely gifted.

Fun Factoid: The day they released this track, they put it on a special site that used your GPS tracker. You had to be in a local park before it would play, so a lot of us first heard this song while surrounded by nature. (These guys are big on environmentalism, if you hadn't caught that already 😉)

I love this album , probably only two songs I don like that much ..from this album I love 'When the Curtain Falls" , "Lover Leaver" in my top-5....... love the keyboard in this song , it reminds me of King Crimson one of my favorite band .
@jodibennett-bradshawrbtmph836 Жыл бұрын
In the beginning he was self-taught (all the boys are), but Josh does have a vocal coach now (2023) so he uses correct techniques. That's why Josh's poses, body movements should look like other great singers, i.e., Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Aretha Franklin; they should look similar bcoz they are using healthy techniques to preserve & protect their voices
