As a thai who not from Bangkok, i can confirm what sho to said. Food in Bangkok is really sweet (even some food that not supposed to be sweet)

As a Thai person, I would like to say I addict to that green tea (actually just pure sugar) drink.

I'm Thai and I can confirm that everything is too sweet , and since the buyer loves it, the seller makes it sweet.. after exposed to extreme sweetness for a long time , most people get use to it and think it's normal. It isn't a good thing though, recently we find a lot of people already have Diabetes or too high lipid level since young age. The funniest thing is, one of the most famous franchise coffee shop even follows the same trend. Whenever I order the coffee in Thailand I always have to order for ' less sugar ', but when I travel abroad and order coffee, from the same coffee shop, I order a normal one , and it's already less sweet than the 'less sugar' version in Thailand. 😂
