Even from just this clip... it definitely *felt* romantic to an extent that seems kinda intentional, which is what bothers me the most. I agree, alot of stories have this same flaw where they put all the time and effort into building the platonic relationships and neglect their intended romantic ones and then when its endgame time and their canon ppl are rightfully confused because how tf do you give 99% of the focus and development on these two ppl yet shove them with someone you spent only 1% of the time and effort on developing, its ridiculous. Altho I disagree with the Naruto and Sasuke thing because they were always portrayed as just rivals/friends/brothers from the start ppl just twisted their interactions into something more than what it was but I can understand why ppl were mad about who they ended up with since they got a fraction of what they got in development and build up which I agree is ridiculous. I feel like if your not gonna give your intended romances the attention and build up it deserves then you just shouldnt include it at all.
