it is weird.. I've only hugged my friends for a prolonged time when they had had a break-up or were intensely sad for another reason. as a lesbian I've never cuddled with any of my exclusively female friends even when I didn't know my sexual orientation, none of my straight friends did either. and men are much less touchy because any touching between males is considered gay by straight men so I really doubt a straight man would want to touch another man unless it was a one-off joke. he definitely seems at least bicurious

It could be a case of many people in chat just not having friends that cuddle like he does. I have a friend for 15 years and I do not touch her within a five foot pole. It's normal for friends to cuddle but I doubt it's normal for people who just goes through life without that kind of affection from friends.

@olufson I think it's more common for same-sex attracted people to not do that. My straight friends all groped and cuddled each other platonically. I never did that to someone I didn't have feelings for

I've never been drunk but like this is pretty standard friend stuff, like if your close and comfortable with each other then being touchy feely isn't weird since its just friends goofin around, speaking as a straight girl its not uncommon to touch each others breasts or even fondle em [with consent obviously] and there be nothing sexual or weird about it, just pals bein pals lol Obviously this isn't the type of stuff you can do with just like a casual friend or acquaintance, but someone close to you that you've known 7 years? yea this is pretty standard friendship lol being drunk makes you more uninhibited so its likely thats why he was more touchy feely than usual since, assuming he's being truthful about being straight, then makes sense why he'd hold back more when sober but let loose more when drunk since he isn't being self conscious then. Now its also possible he's closeted and the only way he comes out is when he's drunk and don't give af lol but Im pretty sure he's being genuine about his sexuality and this really is just normal close friend behavior. Its not a true friendship if you cant be sus with each other and it not be weird lol.

Yeah, that guy wasn't straight. He was probably just using the alcohol as an excuse, people don't become different when drunk you just have slowed motor functions etc.
