Tunes played are:
March: Captain Carswell [William Lawrie, (1881 - 1916)]
Strathspey: The Cameronian Rant (traditional)
Reel: The Smith of Chilliechassie (traditional)
Shotts and Dykehead were placed fifth in the Grade One competition. Full results for the day's competitions can be found at the RSPBA's website at rspba.org: bit.ly/3QfP4MZ.
Captain Carswell is a 4 part 2/4 march by William Lawrie. It makes its first appearance on this channel in this recording. You can find a bagpipe setting in the Scots Guards Collection Book 2. There is a non-bagpipe setting at bit.ly/3zvBDmi which is substantially the same tune.
There's a short biography and an appreciation of his music at pipetunes.ca/c....
