The original treaty consisted of four articles; the first set the upper border, the second required the United Kingdom to stop arming Mayan rebels, the third laid out the obligation of both states to prevent Native Americans from gradually encroaching into the territory of the neighboring country, and the fourth required ratification of the treaty by the respective governments. A TREATY WAS SIGNED. You understand? Mexico tried in the past to invade Belize and failed. Then Mexico gave up and signed a treaty and agreed to respect Belizean sovereignty. It is officially over and done with. You have no claim anymore. Mexico was never interested in Belize. Why don't you worry about the lands USA took form you. I am serious here. MORE important lands were stolen from Mexico and you worry about Belize? LOL!

As a Belizean Britain has done much for us and I believe that we should not follow others and stay strong with England it's our mother Country. Our history has always had us standing with England why change a good thing and England has never done us wrong respect to England and Belize is still the land of the free by the Carbbean Sea

Increasing military capcity will take time and in Belize's case, years. Probably the best senario to tip the power balance is fire power (motars, artillery, ATGMS, or even tanks)

1 Belizean not even thinking about the value of their money. 2 we only have about 4000 soldiers in the entire county Guatemala has that in 1 base. Where will we get help from. Bigger countries have low currency value than Belize only the queen's head is holding us there. Why are these people so slow

@@Kazy-nn3vr but only if a good amount of Belizean turn soldiers will we be able to fight for the most part but we are would be damaging other areas and still outmatched for there most part in regards to equipment, training, backing etc

@@coolcalm1 If a invasion were to happen, I believe the best course of action is to delay the Guatemalans as much as possible. Our troops won't have the manpower to defend any large towns but they can establish control over the highways that connects to the capital. If they can achieve that, they can slow the advance until international support arrives. However, it won't be as easy, especially not at our current level. There would need to be shift in our military docturine and a investmenst of systems such as motars, ATGMs, artillery and even tanks just to reach a crucial stalemate.
